He looks to have the lot .surely he’s even a better option for the passing game anyway as he simply holds the ball better .. surely a no brainer for him to play Disappointed it is then .. thought this might happen even though archer got the goal onuachu made himself a lot more involved .. bad decision imo 1
Andy Hill Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Not sure where a goal is going to come from so predict 0-1.
Tom57 Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Manning got into the attacking third about 0 times against Arsenal which was ok as his job was to help control Saka, but today we need someone attacking down the left and he won't do that, or at least nowhere nearly as effectively as someone like even Armstrong or Fraser would.
danjosaint Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 5 atb for a home game against a newly promoted team, guys a fu**ing cock 2

That's odd. I can see Manning getting in the way of KWP. Sulemana back on the bench so he's fit again.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Looks like the extra full back there to give strength in numbers, and a bit of fluidity between the defence and midfield. It looks as much like a belated "Here's how you can play Trent! 3 fullbacks!" appeal from Martin for the England job, as a normal set up. Here's hoping it's enough.
AlexLaw76 Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 what an atrocious line up. This is set up perfectly for Russell to say after the game that the performance and line up was his fault and not to blame the players, but he was proud of their bravery... 3
beatlesaint Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Guys, Manning is only in for this game, he’s smoothing the way for Capt. Jack to come back next week!! 2
James Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Don’t really get the team. Where is Manning playing? Seems unbalanced. Shame no start for TP after a very decent cameo. 2

Aside from Manning, what’s wrong with it? 1
Galway saint Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 must win game and really bad decision not to play TP we have no one to hold the ball up again.. small guy up front and where we won’t play balls in behind. difficult to see where a goal is coming from with that side and we will concede and so need two to win

derry Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Clutching at straws. That won't stop Leicester hitting balls through for their runners. We needed a pressing front three to shut that off. 2

Saint NL Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 BBC sports has KWP as a third centre back and Manning as wingback.

StrangelyBrown Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 I can't understand why sulemana is on the bench. He wasnt good enough in the championship - I can't see him suddenly being good enough to help us in the PL 4
Midfield_General Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Roll up, roll up, for the formation and team selection tombola. Is that a 5-4-1? At home, against Leicester, in a game we absolutely need to win? If Manning is playing as a third centre half, why him and not Taylor who actually is a centre half and is on the bench? Cornet, BBD, Wood and Edwards not even making the squad. If I was Dragan I would be asking serious questions about how my money was spent in the summer. On paper that looks like an absolute mess, but they've had two weeks to prepare for this one so I'm guessing they will be well-drilled and organised in yet another new combination of formation and personnel. Let's see shall we.

Tom57 Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Manning was the wing back against arsenal, with kwp slotting in a bit when arsenal attacked down the left. Not that Manning got forward much, he basically got to the half way line and passed it inside then didn't go further forward. I wonder if we're going to sit deep again and try to hit Leicester on the break, perhaps trying to get a first clean sheet
bpsaint Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 2 goals for Rat Boy and a 1-4 win to Leicester I fear. Genuinely thought TP might feature today after his decent appearance at Arsenal.
disconnect Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Was some hope that Amo-Ameyaw might make the bench after not playing last night but must be injured?
Saint NL Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 I have a weird gut feeling that todays game will be a classic.

I could understand doubling up at LB against Arsenal, but Leicester? If Manning is the answer, what the fuck is the question? BBD not even on the bench I see. That is a definite blessing in disguise! 1

This is true we have the weakest striker line up in the league and the club has had numerous opportunities to put this right! And What do they do?.... Buy a proven sick note player!

It smells of a man who hasn't a clue what he's doing and is hoping something comes off.
CanadaSaint Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Sadly it's hard to see anything changing. No balls, no penetration. To me he's a tactical eunuch.

Scoobysaint Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Lots of focus on Aribo and Fernandes today to be a bit more creative. If Dibling gets at their FB early and he gets a yellow then it’s the way forward. I think we will be ok and get the win. Just hope the crowd stays with the team if there are a few misplaced or negative passes.
Saint NL Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Russel Martin wearing a t-shirt, you'd think he'd have a suit on for his funeral 2

Mr X Posted 19 October, 2024 Author Posted 19 October, 2024 Our only hope is the players ignore russball and do their own game 😂
Saint_Ash Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Good positive start. Manning up the field like a winger.
Osvaldorama Posted 19 October, 2024 Posted 19 October, 2024 Martin honestly watches a different game to me. Don’t get this line up at all. Made sense to play Manning against saka. But against Leicester… I don’t get it at all
