Is it just me ? But onuachu looks exactly what we have been missing?  Ball kinda sticks with him .. and shown a nice few touches .. makes you wonder why he’s been out of the picture so much

Doesn't fit in with the way Russ is reinventing football. He won't start the next game.

Tall Paul has been great in this brief cameo.

I mean, nothing to lose etc, but still, goes soem way to showing how much better any team can look with an actual centre forward on the pitch.

(((ah. bums)))

No way will it be that, they will see many positives!

Yep - as I said at the start - anything better than 3-1 and he’s done great. But…9 minutes of extra time??!?!!

Clearly, we shouldn't judge Martin purely on the merits of an away game at what is probably the best club side in England at the moment. But despite some positives I have seen nothing today that tells me Martin should keep his job.

Same weaknesses undermining anything good we try.

This 100% there's no way they are sacking him though

No but we can judge him on his shit philosophy and tactics and inability to coach a defence which keep getting us in trouble. He won’t change and neither will our results

If today proves anything it's that he should be doing better with this set of players - I'm convinced another manager would have us winning games.

Yeah, the squad isn’t quite THIS bad. But Martin is just about as far out of his depth as he could be, and so this is the result.

Agree 100% another manager would know our strongest team and implement a more attacking positive style when in possession.... Yes we've been a bit better today with a proper striker but it's papering over the cracks of Martin's style

Could have been a lot worse.

Their 2nd was offside, Merino was clearly interfering with play.

We had chances to equalise and then gave the ball away like a bunch of mongs for their third.

Why not take a lesson from Arsenal and bloody well cross the ball into the box when you get a chance instead of passing backwards? So frustrating to watch.

The club need to not be fooled by today and have the strength to do what's needed 🙏

Unfortunately RM will come out with the usual platitudes after this game - the thing the owners should be drawing from it is that we are nowhere near as bad as RM's coaching and tactics make us look.

This.

Our squad is better than we're showing.

That's on RM. Get him gone.

Well... at least we had three minutes of total bliss.

AND I think we discovered that tall Paul is an essential part of our future.  I love watching him.  With him, Fernandes, Dibling, Ramsay... I don't think we'll be relegated. I think we'll figure this out.

Next month will be epic.

Still very much hate how we play, even if it was slightly better than Monday.

Still very much Martin out

And Downes too casual for their first.

Doubt we'll see much more of Tall Paul with Russell picking the team.

Roy Keane always says don’t judge players against the top top clubs, as they always put it in during those games, knowing a humiliating defeat will happen if they don’t. Judge them when they’re facing games then can pick up points in. With us, it’s Brentford, Ipswich, Forest, & Boscombe. Playing well against arsenal or city mean fuck all if we draw 0-0 or lose to Leicester.

We made Bournemouth look world beaters first half Monday, the same Bournemouth who gave Leicester their first win today.

Today changes nothing, Lego head needs to fuck off to give us any chance of staying up.

I'm gonna guess that's exactly what RM will say in his post match interview. I'd like to think we're already in discussions with potential managers but I doubt SR have thought that far ahead.

At least we didn't get dicked and we learned that Ryan Manning isn't our saviour after all.

So still a complete waste of everyone's time.

We're not going to win if we give the ball away in stupid positions so we're not going to win playing Russball which in the PL relies on us having players who are good enough not to make mistakes against the very best players.

I just don't get why we continue to do the same things over and over again without learning that it doesnt work...

Whatever the verdict we lost three goals which our possession obsession contributed to. As Martin wants to play this Kamikaze passing at the back and midfield let him do it somewhere else.  The players should be drilled so that the first reaction in our last third is tackle hard and put a boot through the ball and leave some players up top to fight for it. Our short passing for passing sake at the back is our biggest weakness as it is inhibiting the players.

Well it wasn't the dry humping we all expected. And there were some positives I guess.

But there were so many shortcomings as well, most of which can be attributed directly to poor management.

Despite the small glimmers of hope, I saw nothing today to suggest that RM really has any idea how to get us winning games in this league.

Difficult to judge away against this current Arsenal side.

But nothing's really changed other than perhaps emphasise that the squad is being mis-managed.

I can't see the owners sacking him before next Sunday's 'critical' game - but If Martin loses that one then he'll have to go. 🤪

Well they tried but I'm feeling that this group of players could do a lot better.

Onauchu looked fit, solid, motivated and certainly not out of his depth. He needs to start against Leicester.

Better than Monday, sadly still not good enough...
I liked the KWP / Manning double act on Saka, was needed.
Felt the team was better balanced, subs did ok and Archer's goal was a little cracker.
2 goals from weak and unnecessary turnovers (and so many hospital passes)... that's the killer.

This season back was always going to be so tough...They have to keep working hard..

Spot on - Martin makes us easy to play and score against. He just doesn't learn and never will. Get rid.

Decent at times today away to a quality side.

It's a fucking shame our total before this was a grand old 1 point. If we had more of a buffer this sort of expected scoreline wouldn't be as irritating.

We could be so much better with a different football philosophy and an attacking mindset,  I believe we just about have enough quality to scrape staying up under the right manager..... I fear we won't have enough games left when the club finally realises that though!
