The free kick is taken no where near where the foul was. How had no one picked up on that?????

It’s poor from the officials but also inexcusable in the top 2 divisions to be switched off like that. I don’t think the squad is anywhere near fit enough mentally or physically which is part of the issue. Time for Poch style double training sessions.

THB has been very disappointing so far this season. Clearly £20m buys you the modern day Jos Hooiveld.

Yep, I raised this last year when Burnley didn't purchase him and considering they had Kompany as Manager.

How's the ref not called the free kick back to be taken where the foul was made.

Foul looked weak, too.

Five yards away at most. The real problem is Downes and Ugochukwu turning their back like schoolboys

Tyler struggling through middle - maybe swap him and Cornet.

It's how we should have started. Cornet is big and strong and can win headers, he'd make a good focal point up top.

Goal should never have stood - the ball was miles from the foul spot and still moving.  But what is that bloody lineup he's put out there?  No striker and why sign COrnet?  He looks as useless as AA and BBD.

It wasn’t moving and the ball was, if anything, further from the goal than where the foul took place. Neither of those are excuses, we were just naive and asleep for a set piece.

Dribbling hasn’t the strength to play that role.

I don’t hate him. Just calling what is the inevitable.

Bollocks, that's why last year you put that cringey avatar on your profile and then that #Martinout on your posts. It was fucking embarrassing then, and it's embarrassing now.

£32m spent on THB, Wood and Edwards. Great recruitment from the club as usual.

So, the one thing that was working really well in the last few games was Dibling on the wing.

So, what does RM do? Moves him....

He'll do anything to keep Onuachu from playing CF.

Get me back in the championship, this league is shit.

With the right manager I agree. Ipswich don’t have a miles better squad but look at their performance yesterday, playing to the strengths of the players they have. Funnily enough competing well even if they ultimately go down. We will struggle next season as well with Martin in charge.

We’re just not very good, are we?

Formation is totally chaos out there. No structure. Focal point of attack. Random guys running around all over the place.

Agreed. There ought to be an option that clubs can win promotion and enjoy the day but elect to stay down and pass the promotion to the next cub down the rankings. No fun being whipped every week.

As said, calling it.
if you think he will be here by Xmas, good for you. I disagree

Midfield is all wrong, we need Lallana on to get a foot on the ball.

The midfield of big Les, downes and Fernandes is exactly what most on here have been screaming for all season 😂

Without all the money to be one of the better teams, it’s just as bad, if not worse. This league isn’t sh*t, losing is.

It's this sort of thing that makes you think he's truly lost it and resigned to the sack.

We started fine against United, maybe few tweaks here and there and we'd have a decent-ish team.

Russ, nah fuck it I'll take all our strikers off, stick Cornet/Dibling up front. Fuck. Sake.

In a formation with a striker and two wingers, not with Fernandes playing as one of two weird false 9 roles alongside Dibling.

When you play without a striker… your gonna be on the back foot from the off.. the Bournemouth coaching set up would have been laughing.. were absolutely rudderless.  Martin I think now needs to go

This is fucking awful to watch.

I've been very reluctant to start calling for a managerial change just yet, cos I thought Russ deserved a chance to show he can adapt to the PL.

But just what the fuck is this formation he's put out there tonight?

No recognised striker on the pitch but 5 on the bench, and seemingly just instructing the whole team to pass it to a crowded out Dibling at every opportunity.

He's doing himself no favours at all.

Edit: And there's 2-0.

Fuck off Russ.

I admire him for stick to a principle. However he is not Pep who tbf is making a couple of errors himself.

Nothing against our team, but we are not world class Champions League winners.

Please can we play the Saints way, oh dear just conceded goodnight…,,

Trouble is, we knew we were going down this season so do we stick with Martin hoping he'll sort it long term or make the change the manager and try to fight for the right to stay in the League. We have decent enough players we just seem to struggle to find a combination that works. Over reliance on an (admittedly talented) 18 year old will not keep us in the league.

And thats 2 nil.

I think it wasn’t an affordability issue like it was with Tella, and he’d have gone to Bayer anyway given the choice (and why wouldn’t you - 2 lovely medals the result).
