Tall Paul on the bench. Interesting.

It'll be interesting if Tall Paul comes on...though there seems to be a queue of strikers on the bench and I can't see him jumping that queue.

Would like to have seen KWP in the line up but otherwise that seems a fair starting team. Let's see if Cornet does anything in the middle.

Gotta be honest , not a fan of Cornet. Especially as a lone striker. He’s been very mediocre at best in his career so far.

If we play 4-2-3-1 properly he won't be a lone striker.

To be fair, and I don’t like the squeaky Scouse twat, but he nailed our issue 100%

Tbf, even Stevie Wonder can see the issues we're having....

Admit I don’t know too much about every Bournemouth player but can’t think of many that I think would want in our team. Would definitely like their manager

Has he? He was more than decent at Lyon, looked very good for Burnley but struggled at West Ham and had a serious injury.

If the full-backs can get forward and get some crosses in, 7 centre-forwards should give them something to think about

You know you're old when people are talking about false number nines, double pivots, playing with verticality and your immediate reaction is WTF?

Indeed. Pray, what are these "transitions", "the press" and "channels"? Are they when the other team get the ball, someone runs toward an opponent with the ball, and the direction in which a slide-rule pass might have once been played?

5 strikers on the bench and one defender is an interesting move.

It’s a stupid unbalanced move if we’re being honest.

In terms of our recruitment he fits perfectly - great at Championship level - unproven in the Prem.

So much wrong with our 'recruitment' this summer

How's Fraser - who wasn't even first choice in the Championship - swanned into the team with no proper pre-season?

Why aren't we playing a proper number nine despite signing two? Why are there four forwards on the bench?

Why isn't there a centre-half on the bench? One injury and we're playing rubix cube trying to fix it. Edwards and Wood clearly aren't good enough - why sign them?

That side gets rolled over by our team from last season, let alone in the Premier League.

I realise this is negative half an hour before a game, but fuck me, the state of it. COYR

Shit or bust for RM tonight. 2-0 down with 20 mins left he'll stick all 5 on hoping they will somehow save his job.

Fernandes is the key for me this evening. With FD and Big Les holding, he has free roam to do whatever he pleases. He has Cornet to close their defenders down and the wingers to shut their FBs ups. He could thrive if he gets the space.

Tonight's triple sub will be Stewart, Lallana and Brereton-Diaz on at around 60 minutes. The latter will play out wide again. Adam Armstrong will get the last 10 minutes and then the additional sub in extra time could be anyone.

I know! And what are these 'footballs' and 'boots' that these damned hipsters keep going on about?

What's wrong with a pig's bladder and clogs?

World's gone mad

There will be no sub in extra time because we’ll be behind and Russ will be far to busy writing the script to his after-match interview explaining how brave we were, how delighted he was with 60% possession and he enjoyed learning so much from the game.

well no surprise that no matter what Russ puts out is immediately shouted down by most on here and everyone is bitching before the ball is even kicked. I don't expect a win, unfortunately every team in this division is better than us but for gods sake we are not out of September yet, get behind the manager and the team!

Don't tend to look at this too much but was looking at it earlier for our shots per game, but expected goals shows just how shit our strikers are compared to the other teams around us. Feels like we're creating enough, just not doing enough with it:

Martin can't have much time left, especially if we lose tonight. Next up Arsenal away (loss) then Leicester at home (would be a must win game) and Man City away (loss). I think he'll be lucky to be our manager on 2nd November when Everton come to town.

That being said, could another manager keep this squad up? It's definitely in the bottom three in terms of Premier League quality, but would a change in manager give us the fight to scrap out the points needed for survival? I'm not convinced.

DS: Russ, not one of our forwards have scored this season, you better come up with a solution real quick!

RM: Yes Dragan...

*much later* Right lads, we're going to play without a striker...owners orders!

Worryingly I think that might be his thought process.

That starting lineup Sums up the abysmal transfer window in terms of strikers

Exactly that. Don't think anyone will keep this team up with the strikers on offer.

The line up pretty much makes sense, might argue that Lallana should start, but we know he cannot play a full game. Now let’s hope the tactics and subs make sense.

COYR!

Tall Paul to come on in the 89th minute to reinforce the defence. Clears off the line in the last minute of added time with a header that only he can reach. 0-0 and RM lives to fight another week.

More likely than any other option - other than a humiliating drubbing by Bumfluff.
