LiberalCommunist Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Match day! Full of trepidation and a little excitement.
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 2-0 Saints. Time to pop our cherry. 2
Gingeletiss Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 If we score early, then all we’ll do, is try and hold on to that score line. So here’s hoping it’s 0-0 in the 76 minute, we score, and try to hold on for a 1-0 win.

SuperSaintWill Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 (edited) So this is how depressing it is. Bet365 are giving 3/2 on the Muff and 5/1 on us. Bearing in mind they're as crap as us. Edited 30 September, 2024 by SuperSaintWill
warsash saint Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 If anyone cannot make tonight, i am still after 2 tickets - can collect lunchtime/before game. See 'away supporters' thread for contact details

skintsaint Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Have they got anyone on a barren goal scoring streak or new signings that need to break their duck? Worth throwing money on them getting a goal. 1

He was £40M+ as well wasn't he, they've spent some big money at times Bournemouth, record signing well over ours so despite being a small club in Dorset with league one fan base financially they have more spending power than us.

Cabrone Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 If we had a pragmatic manager this is a game we should be looking to grind out a low score draw or a 1-0 win. With RM however I suspect we'll play open football and get picked off again. 1

hypochondriac Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Feels like a huge game. Beyond depressing that crappy little Bournemouth are now favourites against us. I'm praying that we can get a win and get our season started.
Saint_clark Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Is Dibling fit? If so we have a chance of getting a couple of goals and with Ramsdale at the back a chance of keeping the score down too.

Jack Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Score first and we’ve got a decent chance, if it’s around the 98th minute 1 1
SylvianSylvian Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 ONUACHU FRASER LALLANA DIBLING DOWNES UGOCHUKWU TAYLOR THB BEDNAREK KWP RAMSDALE Boscombe will rue the day they met this bunch - crosses raining into the box for 90mins - Knockdown after knockdown from TP - Dibbers & the Wee Man having a field day on the wings, 1 - 3 Saints COYR!!!!!!!! 1
S-Clarke Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Surely we have to win at some stage? I often find that when everyone is accepting of the fate and defeatist, the opposite happens. No logic to it, but based on that I fancy us. I remember people thinking we'd get pummelled by Leeds at home last September, after a similar run. It's hard to be positive though I'll give you that, just 2 goals scored and 9 let in for the first five games is as bad as it gets really. If it doesn't get better from this point then we might as well pause our club for 10 months and start again in August. 3

Winnersaint Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 I said a few weeks back their £40m fella would break his duck against us. Gotta happen.

SaintsBarry74 Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 1-2 Saints, but more importantly, 71% possession for us. 2

I can't understand how Bournemouth have avoided being in trouble with financial fair play or whatever it's called now. Their fan base is so small that I can't see how their regular income can cover the sort of money they've spent in the last 4 or 5 years.

davefizzy14 Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 (edited) I've predicted 2-0 to us tonight with Dibling and Lallana scoring - COYR 😊 Edited 30 September, 2024 by davefizzy14 1
ButtikonSaint Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Gonna predict an attacking minded 4-1-2-3 . KWP back in; Fraser and Dibling preferred to BBD and AA COYS 1
coalman Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 A team that doesn't create anything and gives away soft goals in a league where that sort of thing gets punished. However, we have our first point now. Then again, the manager doesn't seem to know his best team. Hard to see anything beyond a 5-0 win to Saints. 2
sfc4prem Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 Come on lads! Fingers crossed for all three points 🤞 1
Saint Fan CaM Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 I predict a lot of angst and gnashing of teeth on here over the next 3-4 hours. How fantastic would it be to actually come away with 3 points? As always with our beloved club, it’s the hope that hurts the most.
Thripp87 Posted 30 September, 2024 Posted 30 September, 2024 The problem this evening is I don’t even think Bournemouth see us as a big deal anymore. They used to get over excited and choke on their big day out, reality is they are better than us now and I for one will be amazed if we can even get a draw.
