We're playing a different formation with longer balls out and more urgency. However, we're giving it away because of that and Bournemouth are picking us off.

No it’s not. They played 3 balls out with mid range passing. The style is the same. If you play balls out at least have a degree of a target man. Thats basic football tactics. He has to go

In Glen Hoddle’s brief tenure he would make changes after a few minutes if things weren’t working. The writing was on the wall before the first goal went in and yet nothing perceptible has changed.

Dibling isn't a CF: put him out wide.

Stick TP up top - why not?

Who's the best left footed player? - Stick him wide left.

And get it in the fucking mixer.

So fucking obvious it was gonna go this way tonight. Can’t believe some people on here still back Russ or thought Bournemouth were an average team. Deluded. Getting butt fucked on national tv with little old Bompey singing “you’re fucking shit”

Thanks for Wembley Russ, now kindly leave, and if you could somehow take that prick Rasmus with you that’d be great.

From starting?? He's 36 and was injured. Not excactly a surprise he can't start every week. Very normal for a 36 year old attacking player in the Premier League. Especially when, as I said, he missed most of preseason.

Otherwise you are just risking injury. Rest one game or risk losing him for months.

Martin has just sat here. Watched this formation be appalling. Watched them score 2. Watched them attack more and more, stroked his beard nervously a number of times, changed nothing and allowed it to continue.... And sure enough they've scored a 3rd. Entirely on Martin that goal, inexcusable.

He’s in the rear view mirror. Lallana needs to think about how to approach the Arsenal game as caretaker.

There is a parallel universe where your namesake was never undermined and sacked and we're an established top 10 club looking towards Europe with our best academy talents still at the club, as well as tino and lavia... Oh well ey?

This no strikers approach really has legs.  Pump the ball up into their half with no-one in their half......pure genius.

This has been beyond embarrassing and is, in many ways, worse than the 9-0s under Ralph.

He was certainly better than this obstinate clown

Downes is really struggling in the middle. We really miss a Romeu figure in there don't we?

I just cannot fathom how we thought we could be competitive with so many players that don't have PL experience or have proven not good enough at this level before. We're relying on a 36 year old and 18 tear old to carry the team. Along with Ramsdale who quite fairly is (probably) wondering how he can get out of this mess ASAP.

Awful.

It cant be called pathetic because it’s not even at that level .

We are going to get battered by Bournemouth ffs.

He must be sacked without delay, cue the groupies trying to defend this and Martins job

When we signed Lallana I thought it was the most mind-bendingly obvious thing in the universe that he was nowhere near PL fitness and was highly unlikely to start any kind of string of consecutive games. How can you be struggling to understand this?

I’ve disliked many a manager but he’s a fucking clown beyond comparison. I really want him gone.

I genuinely reckon we go down without a win under him.

Players an utter disgrace too.

Have to say big Les wasn't paying attention for 1st goal and defended like he was drunk for the 3rd.

No ball rention, no "pausa" or whatever it's called, just us to the half way line and give it away.

It's peak Russell Martin. 0 strikers on the pitch and 5 on the bench.

We have a fair squad, who if played to their strengths would have a shot at survival in this league. He is failing them and us.

We only got promoted because Stephens was injured for a long period of time and Bazunu got injured for the crucial games at the end. If we had his first choice team all season we'd still be down there, he scraped by achieving the absolute bare minimum and it over inflated his ego.

Are the players playing for him? I wouldn't be surprised if they are fed up with this now, knowing we don't stand a chance with this style of play.
