I’ve google translated the web page for those interested in reading. He wouldn't my pick because his sides are defensive as hell. But anyone turning their nose up at him from an ability perspective is being harsh. He's a good manager tactically and his sides are very well drilled. Although i'd argue he's the opposite of Martin in that instead of having a prescribed system, his system feels like its whatever will work to counter the opposition... I don't think he'll suit creative players like Dibbling and Fernandes either, but obviously could be wrong on that. With no DoF in place, someone like Moyes would be a steady hand in fairness. Think he'd be good for younger players as well. Will be interesting to see how this goes. Moyes, Corberan, Rohl, Potter are all decent names to be linked with. I am not sold on the danish gareth southgate however (okay, that may be harsh), but for me he simply hasn't done it at a serious enough level and i include international football with Denmark within that. We need a manager experienced in english football... Get this right and its not inconceivable that we do make a fight of relegation and at the very least go into the summer in a good place for the championship promotion push next year. Cock this one up with another SR managerial masterclass and we'll be on an extremely low ebb going into the summer, huge toxicity between the board and the fans, and have half the team fighting each other to be first out the exit door again. Harry_SFC Posted Thursday at 15:18 Share Posted Thursday at 15:18 A lot of people think Moyes is unrealistic, but if he wants to get back into management asap then I don't see there being many jobs up for grabs given Leicester and Wolves have already changed their managers. Palace are now picking up as expected and Ipswich wouldn't sack McKenna.

The Realist Posted Thursday at 15:45 Share Posted Thursday at 15:45 I think Rohl might have been their first choice but perhaps he is not willing to leave SW mid-season. What meaningful impact will a relegation have on on a 61 year old manager's CV? Especially when relegation currently looks extremely likely. Moyes has a vast body of work as a manager that shows he is capable. An inevitable relegation isn't going to be blamed on him. If he’s not, then what’s the point of his existence and we should be bringing someone in to properly replace Wilcox. If he is, then what qualifications has he got to be heading up football operations at a premier league football club in the first place? Head of performance at the academy at Man City, 6 years ago, hardly seems an adequate base. Edited Thursday at 16:53 by ErwinK1961

I think my main concern with him is that he doesn't have much of a track record in football which is unusual at the level he is now operating at. Plus we heard from and read about Jason Willcox regularly yet this guy seems happy to jog along in the background. I suppose he could quietly be doing a brilliant job for the club - we have to hope so but I'm afraid he doesn't inspire me.

To be fair, Wilcox doesn't seem to have left the club in a better state than he joined it and isn't exactly pulling up trees at Man Utd. I'd rather have a highly competent DoF that nobody knows about it than one who is looking for his big club move. Not to say that the current bloke is that in any way shape or form.
