Rut Posted 14 September, 2024 Posted 14 September, 2024 Archer's wanky, pisspot one today takes some beating. I can't think of a worse one. All things considered like where the game stood at the time. Has there ever been one that sucked more? The rebound tame header straight back to the keeper just added to how shit it was.
Patches O Houlihan Posted 14 September, 2024 Posted 14 September, 2024 (edited) At least it was on target. This one pissed me off quite a lot Edited 14 September, 2024 by Patches O Houlihan 1
HarvSFC Posted 14 September, 2024 Posted 14 September, 2024 Adding to the already mentioned Idiakez penalty, Leon Best on the same night. The occasion and the penalty. How does a professional footballer hit it so far wide. You often see a footballer hit it over, but rarely wide. Best's penalty starts at 10:00

Jeez, how long you been watching Saints? A week? 1
Football Special Posted 15 September, 2024 Posted 15 September, 2024 I think those of us brought up on a diet of Le Tissier, Beattie, Lambert where a penalty usually = a goal find it hard when we see such lame efforts. The miss yesterday had all the ingredients for a shit one - different player holding the ball wanting to take it - long wait due to VAR I assume - penalty taker even looked like he had no confidence as be stood waiting for keeper to retreat to his line 2
die Mannyschaft Posted 15 September, 2024 Posted 15 September, 2024 Unless you have a record of lots sense scored by idiotic stop start, watching keeper to move and slotting just next to them or wide or dinking then no player should take a pen. Players have played in previous teams, leaques so if not highly skilled then don't risk. We should of had keeper to take it as tgey can hit the ball with pace, more chance go in. Yesturday pen is with other useless ones by players trying something they don't have the skill to do.
Gloucester Saint Posted 15 September, 2024 Posted 15 September, 2024 (edited) David McGoldrick missing twice v Watford. Tadic’s at Burnley was powderpuff, as the one at Chelsea which somehow went in. I still remember the shock in the home and away end after Crossley saved MLT’s penalty, MLT was so stunned he blasted the rebound almost over the Archers. Lighthouse Posted 15 September, 2024 Posted 15 September, 2024 It wasn't for us as such but we always wondered why Pelle never took them for Saints, then he took one in a shootout for Italy and the penny dropped. 2
Badger Posted 15 September, 2024 Posted 15 September, 2024 Did Papa Waigo ever take one ? thinking JPT shoot out.
