Light hearted fun with serious undertones.

I honestly think Derby's record is going to be beaten this season, I think we could be on for the first ever single digit season.

I'm confident we can get 6 or 7 draws. So we just need to win 2. I can see us getting a win or two from Leicester Ipswich or Everton, plus one surprise, maybe Fulham or cp.

I think we can do it.

Really?! If Martin does actually play our best team, we will start picking up points pretty quickly. I doubt we'll see a core team featuring all of McCarthy - Stephens - Smallbone - Aribo - Armstrong many more times this season!

But why?  He will still have Bednerek THB Stephens  to cock it up between themselves so it won't matter if Les, Fernandes, Downes or Dibling are playing, THB has has had a bit of a shocker but has some intelligence the other 2 simply dont have any footballing brain

That's the spirit. Now, what about 19th place? All it needs is for one of the other teams to get a massive points deduction and we might just do it.

God, I'm feeling optimistic this morning.

Can an admin change the thread title to "I'm shi++ing the bed already".

get a grip.

I'm not shitting the bed, I said its light hearted fun.

We've lost pretty comfortably to 2 of what will be the worst sides (outside of the 3 promoted teams) and against 10 men. Imagine how bad it'll get when we actually have to face a half decent side.

I'd be interested to hear where you think we'll pick up 12 points from, based on what you've seen so far.

That's no incounting a manager change btw - I mean specifically under Martin, playing this way.

When you look at the teams we've played, ten man Newcastle, two teams who you would put 'in our league', it's very difficult to see where points will come from given the performances so far.  From what I've seen we are a long way out of our depth, a wounded Man Utd up next at home, anybody confident of winning that one? 4 1/2 hours of football so far and we've probably played well for about 30 minutes (at Newcastle), we need massive improvements to give ourselves a chance of being here next season.

Is this such a surprise start ?....after all Saints have always had a history of poor starts ..and occasionally they haven't got past

the first 10 games before garnering the first 10 points.    We all knew that the Championship squad wasn't good enough for the Prem.

and now we can see it .   Even last season's better players aren't looking very convincing. ( AA, Smallbone , Stephens and Aribo.)

Aside from Ramsdale, the starting side is more of less the same names as we finished the season with, and the new players still

haven't come on line.   Lallana's cameo at Cardiff was impressive and he gave the assist for the very impressive  Sagawara

on Saturday. (what a great shot).   Clearly, AL won't be up for too many 90 minute games, but his influence was still obvious.

Brereton-Diaz may lack any sophistication, but he's not afraid to mix it with defenders and I like that in a striker.

Archer looks promising, but with some way to get himself established.   Now is the time to persist with Dibling, (regardless of results),

and Fernandes looks to be a real talent.  Ugochukwa is not unfamiliar with the Premier League and worth a few outings, and

I'm impressed by his physique when seen amongst our somewhat " short-sized " defenders.

With the arrival of Cornet, and re-appearance of Fraser, we should have more pace and experience on the wings.

Looking at the fortune that Man.Utd. have paid out for their squad latest, ( an ongoing process every time they change manager)

ANY positives coming out of the next game must be encouraging considering any two of their players cost as much as our whole squad.

Russell Martin has two weeks to get it together, and ANY improvement - even one point - will be very encouraging.

FOOTNOTE:  I'm throughly  p*ssed off at the media who are still lamenting the fact that Leeds didn't get the third spot , whilst only finishing

three points above us last season, whilst blatantly ignoring the fact that we actually beat Leeds three times  last season.

There ...I've said it .... RANT OVER !
