If he stays fit this is a clever signing for his versatility alone. Him and Fraser in one day have strengthened our left hand side, more importantly as Cornet is left footed and can play right wing, it satisfies my craving for that position to be filled if Martin plans on playing AA as a striker.

I tried to find that video from a couple of years ago of the TalkSport presenters being fooled by a prank about him being told, "you a not a loan." Doesn't seem to be anywhere on the interweb, nevermind.

(He's played on the right a few times, and his role if he plays wide in a front three will be cutting inside onto his strong foot rather than getting to the byline, so he should be fine.)

He's a player that has pissed me off before, he was excellent in that Burnley game. 

He needs to play, WHU aren't fussed with him whatsoever but he's never really had a chance there - they spent £20m on him. Gives us another option in attack as he can also play right side or through the middle.

Not too much chat about this as it happened relatively late bit in theory Cornet will be a big asset and his main issue is not lack of ability but lack of minutes through injury and then WH having some very good players in his position.

One thing is has that we lack is the ability to get in the box from wide and score goals - for this reason surely he will become a starting XI player?

Along with Lallana and Fraser probs the only guys to have scored double figures of PL goals in their career (which sums up our lack of proven attacking quality).

Did note the Echo said he joined with a minor knock so will be interesting to see if he is the training pics next time there are any. From what I can see he hasnt featured for Ivory Coast for a while too which helps us I think.

"Maxwel Cornet's weekly wage is £65,000, or £3,380,000 per year. He is on loan from West Ham United to Southampton, where he is the second highest paid player. Southampton covers 100% of Cornet's salary, and he is under contract with them until June 2025"
