It's mind numbingly boring to watch and creates just about nothing. There was one moment at the end of the half where Ugochukwu played a very nice quick pass around the corner to set up a chance for Cornet. I bet RM was fuming he didn't play the way he was facing. Holmes_and_Watson Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Martin will be pleased with the possession, and the spell of control before the break. But efforts were about the same, and like a lot of games our opponents ones were the more exciting ones. We had a couple of headers after our PB build up. Cornet had a run but hit over. We look a bit disjointed. AA made runs but we don't risk over the top balls. He came deep, but either had no one to pass forward to himself, or played it back. We seem incapable of having Aribo be a focal for AA and/ or Fraser to work off. Cornet had a few bright moments. Lallana had a few more. But no one consistently enough to be controlling the game. Alex was never going to be able to control the cross, that led to their goal. Wood, who had a few shaky moments, had moved off the post. There were a couple of moments where we lost the ball needlessly. Wood's being the most noticeable being further back. Another 45 looking for the passes to result in more chances.

Saint_clark Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Lallana off for Fernandes, what was the point in using him in this game?

At least Taylor put in the occasional good cross but boy there's some crap on the field today. We're playing RM championship football at its worst. Hopefully Fernandes will add something

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Well we didn't get a shot, but that was a nice RussBall move there.
obelisk Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 That was better from Saints. Beat the press but poor cross.
Ed Rooney Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Love how mobile and forward thinking Arribo is, our tempo is always so much quicker when he plays
Ed Rooney Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Right where is that other bottle of whisky 1
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Decent start from us. Controlled, but getting into better attacking positions.

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Hilarious crowd disapproval when they passed it back. Imagine they were us. 🙂

Once he settles in him, Downes and Fernandes could be a decent midfield. Lallana has looked quite tidy so far too. I said Smallbone earned his chance this year but already he's drooped down to 5th if not 6th choice. Smallbone and 'drooping down' in the same sentence?! 2
obelisk Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Everton still creating the better chances with a fraction of possession. Should have scored. 2

SNSUN Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 My wife has hijacked Sky for Eastenders. I'm currently watching a bunch of wooden people that are hogging the camera but there's not much happening. Bit like watching Saints really.
Sheaf Saint Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Shite defending again gives them a 1 on 1. 3
Saint_clark Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Good save McCarthy. He's excellent one on one. 2
hypochondriac Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Atmosphere mostly crap here. Birmingham Wrexham last night sounded incredible by comparison. 1
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Some nice moments. Les available for a midfield pass, AA chasing down keepers and the ball sticking to Aribo. Another memory is getting caught on the counter Alex blocking. But for all our good bits, theirs is by far the best chance.

Farmer Saint Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 I do think we desperately need to bring in some new coaches to help with our defending. 2
