Archer looks much better than Adams which is great because he didn't do much with his other two cameos.

Different games, both his other appearances were against teams sat deep. Tonight he could run on to through balls and had a lot more space.

Pros:-

Fernandes was best player on the pitch. Box to box and caused all sort of problems.

Dibling and Sam AA are the best youngsters we’ve had since JWP. Both were brilliant. Grealish and Saka vibes.

Lallana never gave the ball away once and was constantly communicating with his teammates.

Five 10/10 goals!

Cons:-

Edwards and Wood struggled

Lumley dreadful

Second half lacked a goal threat.

Edozie is still poor.

Remembering this was a reserve championship outfit.

If Bella-Kotchap stays... he should be above Stephens, Wood and Edwards in the pecking order.

Looked very composed today and is a very good player. Obviously other hurdles to navigate as well for him to be integrated back into the squad.

It was not remotely close to our first choice defence or keeper. None of them played!

Put that midfield (plus Downes) with our defence last Saturday (plus Ramsdale) and we've got a great chance of staying up.

Yeah but its clear it is still a consequence of the system we play, regardless of those in the defensive positions. Cant judge the Newcastle game with the man advantage but we gifted plenty of chances against Forest and again tonight. Needs to improve

What a mad fucking game that was, some really good positives from an attacking perspective, looking forward to seeing some of this lot replace the plodders in the current first XI.

Can’t really ask for much more than that. Through with no obvious injuries, the first team mostly rested and some decent performances. Obviously the defence and keeper were highly suspect but I doubt we’ll be seeing much of any of them, bar Taylor, in the PL.

A solid full game for Dibling and good minutes for Archer, Fernandes and Les. I’d start the latter three on Saturday.

Diaz - Archer/Arma
Fernandes - Downes - Dibling
KWP - ABK - Bednarek - THB - Sugawara
Ramsdale

Looks like quite a strong team on paper, although it would mean RM having to drop a few favourites which I see little chance of.

Put that formation in the bin and then we can talk.

Positives - Fernandes, Ugochukwu, Dibling, SAA, Archer, Lallana.

Negatives - Lumley, Wood, Edozie, Edwards.

Add ABK being back out there for us to the positives. Playing for a move perhaps, but he turned up away to Cardiff and did well.

Nice to see Lallana pulling the strings out there towards the end. Will be valuable this season I suspect even if from the sidelines.

If he can stay even remotely fit the way we play suits him down to the ground.

Bree was also awful apart from the wonder goal

But Edwards and Wood are new signings, presumably intended to play some part in our premier league season? Bit worrying if they can't cope with a Championship club's reserves.
