New app cancelling transfers

Recommended Posts

Any other season ticket holders who are on holiday having difficult passing their ticket on?

I’ve transferred our two on twice - and they have been accepted at the other end by the person I want to give them to. But then a few days later I have got an email saying the transfer is cancelled (now twice).

Helpfully the email from the club notifying me of the cancellation says I should contact….. myself.

any help much appreciated!

I was pretty excited by the thread title.

How far back will it go ?Can I cancel Ross Stewart, Bazunu and Archer please ?

(Sorry can’t answer your question, I’ve returned mine via Ticket Exchange).

Guessing here,  but maybe you can't transfer before the actual QR code comes through? ie 24 hours before the game.

Can you screenshot the ticket and send it In that format?

I think they're now using these new fangled QR codes that re-generate themselves every so often, ergo screenshots won't work...?

If that's the case then you'd have thought they would have designed the app properly so that it didn't allow a premature transfer in the first place....

When I put mine in the Exchange I then got a ‘ticket cancelled’ email which I took to mean the ticket couldn’t be used by me as I’d exchanged it. ie, not twice.

Ok, thanks for that, I’m going to be facing this situation this weekend

The app also seems to block the taking of screenshots.

On iOS if you take a screenshot you just end up with nothing but black.

Does the person you transfer it to need to have the App?

Yes, absolutely. The transfer effectively goes through the club.

Yes it does block them. They are paranoid about somebody else using your ticket. Not that any of these measures will hamper the touts in any way.

I thought this app thing was supposed to make things simple and easy!?!  Thank god I’ve got a season ticket card. Knew it’d cause issues, and I suspect this will only be the start of the issues

Can you take a screen shot of the ticket/QR code and send that to whoever? Should work that way, shouldn't it?

It’s designed so that you can’t. Firstly the app has blocked screenshots and secondly the QR code that it generates changes regularly so that by the time you use the QR code it’s out of date.

I’m with you here (no surprise there) but I’m going to make sure that we get there earlier on Saturday just in case.

I've bought 4 on general sale for Ipswich and although I have the app I selected postal, and paid a quid for that.

But the site says only app tickets can be used. I'm confused why postal is even an option then.

I also have no idea how 4 of us get in if I'm the only one with the app! Some are children so the app is not something they'll have.

Got a few weeks to get my head around it.

I'll just give my pal a card if they want my ticket for the day.

Laughable that they market it is being easier than ever. What could be easier than passing on a physical item?

Well, what about if your pal doesn't live in the same place as you? In that instance it is way easier to send it off a phone in a minute or so, rather than post a card off to them or have to fuck about trying to find a time to pick up/drop off around work and family commitments

Luckily I only have one friend so this isn't a problem for me 🙂

Re the fuck about trying to find time to meet though you could say it'd be a good excuse for some social interaction.

Of course theres the added benefit of Saints not knowing how many times a ticket is being passed on (as I'm sure they'll add a limit on that eventually). As far as they're concerned I'll attend 19 home games this season.

Hahaha, I am not driving to another town/city after work to drop off or collect my ticket in the name of social interaction!

You are right on the last point tbf, they will use it as a way to find out which season ticket holders are barely turning up or palming off their tickets too much, from their perspective. Especially now we have a waiting list (I think?)

Also makes it easier to track who is responsible for away fans ending up in the home end, if that happens later in the season and leads to crowd trouble

Fair enough, I assume you're not local? Can see how it makes a big difference in that case.

Not sure I agree with your last paragraph. Every seat has been assigned to a customer number for over a decade hasn't it? So that's long been an option of seeing which customer number is passing on/purchasing a ticket for away fans.

In more promising news my latest attempt to transfer does seem to have worked. Not sure we did anything different to the numerous previous attempts which were randomly cancelled, but now at least it says transfer “completed” for the first time.

Lets hope we don’t get another random cancellation just before they get to the turnstiles…..
