Ipswich's style of play is a million times better than ours.

For me it's the fact they have become a lot more solid second half and limited villa to hardly anything. I just don't think we'd be capable of doing that.

Ref cheating Villa out of this - Morsey already booked and commits two more offences when he should without doubt be booked and sent off. Now Ipswich equalise.

Yep Atwell shocking in how he dealt with Morsy

As difficult as it will be, tomorrow becomes a must win for me otherwise we will be getting cut adrift even at this early stage.

5 teams are yet to win a game. We can’t get cut adrift but yes we must get something

Just looks like Ipswich always want to get forward and score goals or even just get corners. Plenty of energy and desire. Players probably get penalised by the manager if they unnecessarily pass the ball sideways or backwards.

Yes, much less risky fannying around at the back and much more front footed and keen to advance the ball quickly when in possession. They are giving themselves chances in games rather than shooting themselves in the foot like we tend to do. Much prefer to watch their style and think it is one that will probably mean they'll finish the season above us.

Man-for-man I'm not sure Ipswich have better players than us, but on that evidence they utilise them a lot better and play to their strengths.

They're limited in ability, but they're well organised, well-coached, physical and always look to play forward. They muscled Villa out of that for long spells and made them uncomfortable. And that's a Villa side who were looking to go top.

They may not not have any wins yet but they're grinding out hard-working draws, which not only gets points on the board but also builds confidence and provides a gritty platform to build on in a way that trying to play pretty football and then losing every week absolutely doesn't.

Personally I don't think Delap is all that, he looks very much a blunt object. But he's big and strong, tough to knock off the ball, and they play to his strengths and get the ball into him in the positions he wants it in order to maximise the strengths of his game. In our system, we'd make him look like a fish up a tree.

McKenna looks very much like a pragmatic manager who adapts his approach to wring the best out of what he has available. I'm not sure it will be enough to keep them up, but on that showing they're going to be competitive and will put up a fight. He's also clearly got a team who are really playing for him, they fought like hell in that game. That prick Morsy should have been sent off though, not sure how always seems to get away with it.

We will almost certainly lose to city and Arsenal so if we don't get at least 4 points from this game and Leicester then it's starting to look a little hopeless barring some miraculous turn around in form.

Villa defended corners like us last week. No-one left on edge of box.

Yes, I was specifically watching this. What they did do was chase out quickly, though still think it's best to also have someone on the edge of the area.

Villa took their foot off the gas and paid the price of two points. And if Jack Stephens did that clearance that let to Villa's first goal, this site would have imploded!

That’s what I’ve always understood good entertaining football to be, frankly.

Stunned to hear today was the first time Delap has scored twice in one game in senior football! He's in his third season and cost £20m!

That said his second goal was great play.  If he can do that frequently he'll be worth every penny.  Not convinced as yet though

With good reason unless you think it was acceptable to play a pass like that.

But still it seems a cut above the Sheffield Utd dream team we signed

Genuinely many of their players and definitely their manager is superior to ours.

Glad that's been said because it means that it was genuinely fine for me to think that last week's result was a point gained rather than 2 lost.

Well done to Martin for grabbing a point against a team with better players and a better manager.

Yes, Ipswich looked decent so agreed, a point gained last week. Going back to the previous week against Man U though , after seeing them against Spurs today they looked that bad that was definitely 3 points lost when we played them.

They’ve been poor all season, extremely lucky to beat Fulham first day. Extremely lucky to face Russ Ball & Barnsley for easy wins.

We're probably the only EPL team that's made them like world beaters.

Ralf's Wolfsburg 3-2 up at HT away to Leverkusen. Seem to recall they were in a bit of a relegation scrap when he was appointed there last season.

Do you reckon they'll do a manager swap?

Ipswich are crap and will get relegated. Villa had loads of good breaks and chances to put the game to bed but fecked them up then gifted Ipswich a goal with some terrible defending.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if us, Ipswich and Leicester go down, assuming no one else gets a big points deduction.

Its by far the most likely scenario and then the same will probably happen next season as well as the current Championship looks much weaker than last season.

Its definitely becoming much harder to get promoted and stay up - even before a ball was kicked this season there weren't many obvious relegation candidates whereas in many years gone by anyone of the bottom half might be nervous.

I think only Wolves or Everton are in any danger outside of the promoted three.

United are atrocious. Ten Hag for the chop.

The worst result for Man U last season was winning the FA Cup. After a poor season, even by their diminishing standards, they were the underdogs against City. Had United lost then I believe Ten Hag would have been sacked. With the FA Cup Ten Hag won a stay of execution but surely they must be sharpening up the gallows at Old Trafford now.

I thought Ipswich were decent yesterday. They went toe to toe with a good Villa side and were not overawed. Apart from the one obvious howler which can happen they didn't make ridiculous errors by constantly trying to play out from the back. They are well set up in a system that makes the most of what they have and look well drilled. I reckon they'll win plenty of home games and a few on the road and do enough to avoid the drop.

Jason Wilcox looked to be enjoying himself watching them in that embarrassing display. Spurs totally outclassed them.

I feel his fouls are niggly nasty ones that make it difficult for the ref to send him off. He rakes the back of the achillies and treads on your foot a little late. As they say it is a higher bar for the second yellow these dont seem to count.

There is nothing remotely niggly when it comes to raking the back of the achilles - it should always be an automatic booking as it is a very dangerous tackle.

Fuck me. Is this what football has become? The worst result of the season is beating your bitter city rivals, in a game when you're the underdog, in the FA Cup Final?

I know football is about progress and Utd don't want to be where they are, but it's also about moments. That win will stay in the mind longer of those fans than having an improved season and finishing 3rd or 4th in the league.
