Midfield_General Posted 17 September, 2024 Posted 17 September, 2024 Dinamo Zagreb were 3-2 down to Bayern after 56 minutes, ended up losing 9-2. Impressive.
East Kent Saint Posted 18 September, 2024 Posted 18 September, 2024 Kane with 4 goals , 3 of them penalties !
VectisSaint Posted 18 September, 2024 Posted 18 September, 2024 Anyone watching Coventry Spurs seeing Fraser Forster having a comedy 5 minutes. Somehow it's still 0-0.

bpsaint Posted 18 September, 2024 Posted 18 September, 2024 PSG beat Girona in the 90th minute courtesy of a Paulo Gazzaniga own goal. You can take the boy out of Southampton….

Give it to Ron Posted 20 September, 2024 Posted 20 September, 2024 Sorry don’t have a link but Jason Steele did a Newcastle McCarthy the other night too. This stupid playing out by keepers is nuts and soon someone will realise it’s emporers new clothes. 1
East Kent Saint Posted 20 September, 2024 Posted 20 September, 2024 And Baca keeper giving 10 yard suicide pass from his box leading to red card , time to bin the twatting around in your own pen area 😳 1

In the Everton game, I noted a longer ball from McCarthy. It immediately stretched the play in a way that trying to pass through to the same position, wasn't happening at that time, with Everton pushing onto our defence. It gave the crowd a lift too, as we got it up the park. So when we can deliver it to one of ours, under control, or win the second ball, it's clearly useful to shape the game. We've seen us still trying to pass out in some daft defensive moments, with their attack still coming back from set pieces. Getting it up the park, driving onto opponents aren't things we see when we're in the game. Usually disjointed and too late when we do see them, as it means we're behind. Everton noticeable for practically never looking to control it. Happy to push into stretched areas without the ball. Their crowd demanded it. I can't help but connect that lack of game management with them losing games from leading positions. So passing out can work well. But knowing when it's not on or when it needs changed up seems to be an issue.

St.Jeweller Posted 22 September, 2024 Posted 22 September, 2024 Ralf's Wolfsburg 3-2 up at HT away to Leverkusen. Seem to recall they were in a bit of a relegation scrap when he was appointed there last season.

Absolutely. Drury drives me mad with his clearly OTT scripted monologues before games start and the way he screams a players name as they take a shot. 1

suewhistle Posted 28 September, 2024 Posted 28 September, 2024 From reading the minute-by-minute in the newspaper looks like a lot of crap defending is going on in the Premier League. Saints have competition!

Red alert for RM if we think we will get away with that against them…. 2
