Not sure Moyes is the answer unless Everton plan on making a number of January signings , that’s if they can spend in Jan without penalty !

What sort of answer are we talking about. Seems to me Moyes is a pretty safe pair of hands, who will make the most of resources given to him.

How bad are Brentford? They only won 5-0 at St Mary's and now they've lost 0-1 at home to Plymouth.

1 win in their last 7.

This is a prime example of arrogance and not respecting opponents in the FA Cup. Brentford played a weakened side in the only competition they have a realistic chance of winning. They'll never win anything else so should have full respect for the 2 domestic cup competitions. Madness.

It wasn’t the same team.

Thank you, Whitey. It's nuggets of information like these that reassure me as I sing, "We're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen."

I was beginning to have doubts: a bit like one of those singers at the end of the Lumberjack's Song.

Arsenal are such a shit team to watch. Arteta is becoming like George Graham. Rather Liverpool won the league

Like us they need a goal scoring striker , Havertz continues to be useless , Sterling stuck in a loop playing same move and having no end product ie a pass or shot . They have also got stuck in a loop with endless corners that don’t work anymore.

Catching a little of Moyes' conference. He was asked about what style of play he'll bring. He complimented the question. Then he said that, as he assessed the strengths of the players he has, he'd be focused on winning as many games as possible until the end of the season.

That done, then he'd look to make adjustments to better suit the style he'd like to coach.

Quite a contrast to the philosophy-at-any-cost managers. Moyes is looking to keep his club in the PL and take them into their new stadium. Then, he'll be looking at broader changes to better suit him.

Also noted that he's got a 2.5 year contract, rather than and end of season one. If things go well, that gives Moyes the chance to improve things for the club. It then also gives the club a chance to back Moyes. Hopefully, they'd do that, if they stay up and not move him on.

This was on 5 live's Monday night club. So, a couple of them immediately ignored all of the above. They promoted Potter as a better option due to age. Then pointed out possession based football as better than Moyes' approach. Because that's been working well for the PL's possession based coaches of late. Because obviously Moyes' 1000 plus games are not worth a bean to the next set of coaching foetuses available for coaching jobs.

No wonder Moyes said his biggest achievement was his longevity. Idiots in the media writing them off.

Theo on the panel, not adding much.

Not sure Potter is a "philosophy at all costs" coach. If anything he is quite dull and pragmatic.

Potter is a decent fit for WHU and Moyes a decent fit for Everton.

Both will do fine and both will be binned in two years time when both clubs and both fanbases decide that finishing 9th is not fitting of a gigantic club with a breathtaking history like what they got.

Both of their replacements then finish about 16th.

Not sure whether this should be in The Lounge but it is footy related, sort of.

Is it a coincidence that Kyle Walker is skipping the country at the same time that Pep's marriage has gone up the spout?

I think it is because of the publicity attached to his bit on the side having his child ! I think he wants to get out the country to give his marriage a go . Not sure that will work !!!!

If you mean Lauren Whatsername, she's had 2 children by him. He was a serial cheater before her. He's hardly good looking but perhaps it's his bank account that appeals.

I heard that Mrs Guardiola didn't feel they had anything to learn from Russell Martin, and began to doubt possession based football. Pep's results crashed as a result of her critique.
