Are they any better then? Not convinced. Arguably, they could be worse than us in the PL next season.

No, they are not better with the leveraged debt, they’ve just made better decisions in the Championship and not tried to be clever bollocks. When they needed a name to pick things up they got one (Kompany) and went for the obvious option this season for autos again (Parker) in the same way Saints should be doing with Steve Cooper.

Kompany did a similar thing last season to Martin this by relegating them by a mile sticking by ‘principles’, which probably inspired Russell to shaft Saints, and whilst they’ll be better defensively next season than we’ve been (impossible not to be) I cannot see where the goals to keep them up would come from https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/how-exactly-did-burnley-fc-owner-alan-pace-make-his-cash/

I watched the Burnley v Sheff Utd game,  just couple of observations

- reminder that standard is really not that high, lots of scrappy play

- BBD looks like he's not having much impact

- watching Burnley fans celebrating, i can't imagine myself getting excited like that for promotion again, suppose got to enjoy the moment of joy whilst you can despite knowing what is to come

BBD looked very chunky to me, can’t see Sheff Utd buying him even if they do win the play offs. Needs intensive training pre-season to get much trimmer, Martinball really didn’t work out for him.

When your side needs an equaliser, being taken off when you're an attacker isn't a good look.

Wilder may have thought he'd be less effective against a compact defence. He also had Moore there to act as a target man.

I may be being too kind there. I do recall a decent run from deep for an attempt. From the goals videos I saw, he does better in pacey end to end games, where there's space to run into.

RussBall was a dreadful fit. It would require him to drop much deeper, and have pace to then get up onto the end of moves.

Brilliant goals from Wrexham which is my wife’s home team.  2 years ago we were 4 divisions higher than them and now we may be playing them next season.

Bloody hell, Derby v Hull has just become a massive fixture with Luton's late winner.

Portsmouth vs Hull for the last game of the season. Suspect that is Hull relegated.

In other news, Nathan Jones doing his best to give Wrexham a precession to play us next season - and not looking to happy about it on sky either 😂

Same league as Wrexham. Utterly depressing.

Went to Harrogate v notts county today and a 37 year old David Mcgoldrick playing for County

he was a a class above everyone else on the pitch, played a free role his touch and movement miles ahead of anyone else

Just shows the levels some of these “shit” premier league players are at

Les Reed is the football mastermind at Wrexham as well. He has done very well in the transfer market with the high resources available to him there. You can definitely see Birmingham and Wrexham signing better players than we do in the summer window.

Utterly depressing that a club like Crystal Palace who have been very shrewd with their transfer business are into a cup final and pushing for a top half PL finish. Whereas we've won 2 games all season. Its not as if Parish has thrown the money around, instead they've made the most of their sales and reinvested it wisely.

They signed the likes of Eze, Wharton, Richards, Sarr and Mateta. We signed Sulemana, Stewart, Wood, BBD and Onuachu. Fuckin hell

Wrexham will have either Leicester or Saints first game of the season at theirs

On the contrary, to me it shows how a good managerial appointment can have a team performing above their usual level (a bit like Marco Silva at Fulham).

Hope they go on to win it.

That is anything but depressing. Or do you just want and expect Saints to be the most shrewd club every season forever?

He scored a screamer recently I’m sure, can’t remember who against.

No may be about it. Wrexham, Pompey and possibly Charlton with that legend of a manager, Nathan Jones to look forward to.

There was a time and not so long ago when seeing Palace as our next game had me pretty sure of 3 points for Saints. It spells it out how far we have deteriorated under SR. Your post shows the players that are out there but our goons sign the likes of BBD. Beyond depressing.

9 goals in 31 appearances, bet Torino are happy with that for a free transfer

I've just come back last week from Turin and in the city centre square there are Torino 'Adams' shirts in all the sports and gift shops

'We'll finish, we'll debrief, we'll breathe a little bit and then we'll move forward with Wrexham.

'It's a bumper game, we have to go to the circus and see what we can get.'

Parkinson responded by accusing the former Stoke manager of being disrespectful towards his side.

'It is a lack of respect to our owners, the team, the staff, the supporters and the heritage of Wrexham Football Club.

'But we will just concentrate on what we've got to do.'

Jones has since tried to defuse the row and claimed his comments were 'misunderstood'.

Lampard just got beaten again... by er....Luton.

Can we just bury that idea now.

on the flip side, he took over a team in 17th and will almost certainly take them into the playoffs...

(not that I think he would be a good fit here)
