It's more than we have runaway leaders (who really don't need the assistance they get from refs every game) and the bottom three sorted with 10 games to go. The football seems so sterile and there's something sad about the commentators trying to hype it all up. There's too many self-interests for things to change but when the main interest seems to be which team will come 4th and 5th in the league, there's something wrong. 2

Liverpool should have scored. I would have liked them to win as English club but the love in with the biased media made me ok that they lost, especially seeing Carragher looking fuming. The ref was very good, not falling for the Liverpool players falling down. That Doue (young sub) is going to be hell of a player.

And what's sad is watching a once regular premier league team languishing in the championship trying this sort of shit football. Without them, and with others catching on, they got relegated (still with lots more points than we've got this season). They always had mistakes in them doing it, and that's continued.

Expand It proves nothing other than the fact that a system can be played either well or poorly and that some players are better than others. It’s far too simplistic to say that any given system is a ‘disaster waiting to happen’ based on cherry picked teams and results. Our players are so bad that there’s no real point yearning for any particular system, it’s not going to work. Since we ditched that style we’ve seen no improvement in results whatsoever.

At 71, my time is nearly done, so don’t have to endure this shite for many more years. This season, has been the worst in my life for supporting Saints, I can’t think of many other seasons as disappointing as this. Thank my stars for golf.

There are still some fantastic games, and the players are unbelievably skilful & athletic, but there’s something sterile & clinical about the way sides play now. I’m hoping the possession based pony is going out of fashion with City’s demise, and the game moves towards a more aggressive Klopp ball type of game. Personally, I hated Lego ball last season even though it was effective in that league, much prefer watching the way Brentford, Forest or Bournemouth play than we did. Let’s see how Newcastle attack today. Let’s hope they go all out and create chaos, show aggression and go for it, rather than mince around keeping the ball… 1
