Not sure Moyes is the answer unless Everton plan on making a number of January signings , that’s if they can spend in Jan without penalty !

What sort of answer are we talking about. Seems to me Moyes is a pretty safe pair of hands, who will make the most of resources given to him.

This is a prime example of arrogance and not respecting opponents in the FA Cup. Brentford played a weakened side in the only competition they have a realistic chance of winning. They'll never win anything else so should have full respect for the 2 domestic cup competitions. Madness.

Thank you, Whitey. It's nuggets of information like these that reassure me as I sing, "We're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen."

I was beginning to have doubts: a bit like one of those singers at the end of the Lumberjack's Song.

Arsenal are such a shit team to watch. Arteta is becoming like George Graham. Rather Liverpool won the league

Like us they need a goal scoring striker , Havertz continues to be useless , Sterling stuck in a loop playing same move and having no end product ie a pass or shot . They have also got stuck in a loop with endless corners that don’t work anymore.

Catching a little of Moyes' conference. He was asked about what style of play he'll bring. He complimented the question. Then he said that, as he assessed the strengths of the players he has, he'd be focused on winning as many games as possible until the end of the season.

That done, then he'd look to make adjustments to better suit the style he'd like to coach.

Quite a contrast to the philosophy-at-any-cost managers. Moyes is looking to keep his club in the PL and take them into their new stadium. Then, he'll be looking at broader changes to better suit him.

Also noted that he's got a 2.5 year contract, rather than and end of season one. If things go well, that gives Moyes the chance to improve things for the club. It then also gives the club a chance to back Moyes. Hopefully, they'd do that, if they stay up and not move him on.

This was on 5 live's Monday night club. So, a couple of them immediately ignored all of the above. They promoted Potter as a better option due to age. Then pointed out possession based football as better than Moyes' approach. Because that's been working well for the PL's possession based coaches of late. Because obviously Moyes' 1000 plus games are not worth a bean to the next set of coaching foetuses available for coaching jobs.

No wonder Moyes said his biggest achievement was his longevity. Idiots in the media writing them off.

Theo on the panel, not adding much.

Not sure Potter is a "philosophy at all costs" coach. If anything he is quite dull and pragmatic.

Potter is a decent fit for WHU and Moyes a decent fit for Everton.

Both will do fine and both will be binned in two years time when both clubs and both fanbases decide that finishing 9th is not fitting of a gigantic club with a breathtaking history like what they got.

Both of their replacements then finish about 16th.

Not sure whether this should be in The Lounge but it is footy related, sort of.

Is it a coincidence that Kyle Walker is skipping the country at the same time that Pep's marriage has gone up the spout?

I think it is because of the publicity attached to his bit on the side having his child ! I think he wants to get out the country to give his marriage a go . Not sure that will work !!!!

If you mean Lauren Whatsername, she's had 2 children by him. He was a serial cheater before her. He's hardly good looking but perhaps it's his bank account that appeals.

I heard that Mrs Guardiola didn't feel they had anything to learn from Russell Martin, and began to doubt possession based football. Pep's results crashed as a result of her critique.

And Forest in 2nd. It shows it can be done with a decent manager and players who give every ounce of effort to their team.

Being towards the top of the Premier League part way through a season isn't necessary an indication of future success.... ;)

Indeed it is not. Just the absolute absurdity of them being in 6th was enough for me. Just goes to show how far we have fallen.

No, it shows that anyone can be flavour of the month in any given season. Two years ago, everyone wanted to be West Ham when they were winning the Euro-JPT, nobody wanted to be Forrest or Bournemouth. A couple of months back everyone wanted to be Brighton, now they’re about eleventh.

Leicester looks like they're going down with us. Ipswich looks really shit, but the difference is that they've been able to grind out results. They'll still go down I reckon.

Ah, good old Mario, always there to be relied upon in a relegation scrap, and repaying Wolves faith in him after they made him club captain at the start of the season.

What a guy.

Midfielder Mario Lemina wants to leave Wolves, says head coach Vitor Pereira.

The 31-year-old missed Saturday's FA Cup win over Bristol City but Pereira said on Tuesday, in his pre-match press conference before the Premier League game against Newcastle, that Lemina was fit and available.

However, speaking after the match at St James' Park, which Wolves lost 3-0, Pereira said Gabon international Lemina came to see him after the press conference and expressed a desire to leave.

"I can't bring a player who tells me he is not in the mental condition to help the team. He wants to leave," said Pereira.

"I don't know what happened before me, but with this energy and this mentality, I don't need him. I prefer to play with another player."

As much as I don't want us to go down, if we could bring Everton down with us, it would not seem all bad.

Now we are doomed to relegation, I really need the likes of Leicester, Ipswich and Wolves to start getting results.

I've got a feeling they'll win enough home games to stay up.

They're never going down, at least not in our lifetime. Slap them with another points deduction and they'll just start winning every game from here on out. Everton will outlive even mankind, same as cockroaches will.

Just watching NEW vs BOU and Brooks is looking fantastic. Managed to work his way into Bournemouth’s 11 now due to injuries. Is this a player we should have tried to sign permanently in the summer? I wonder if we tried there wasn’t any rumours at all.

He looks shaper, more positive & fitter than he did playing our walking football, so Lego won’t have had him playing like that. He’d have been another one Martin’s apologists will be labelling “not good enough”.

He came to us to try and rebuild his fitness and sharpness, after not playing for 18 months because he was being treated for cancer. But hey, feel free to use that to bash ‘Lego’, real class act you are. 👍

If he signed for us this summer, he wouldn’t be playing like that, no way. I know you’ve made a bit of a tit of yourself constantly defending our worst ever top flight manager, but the proof is in the pudding (literally) . You don’t get fit constantly having Sunday & Mondays off, or Xmas day come to that.

Bournemouth have injuries galore, 6 teenagers on the bench and are giving it a good go. No “players aren’t good enough” excuses from them.

Very highly thought of before coming to us. A good move for him and B'Mouth as he got back to fitness. And showed bits of that talent with us too.

The form sort of went with the season and style we had. It was a clinical, controlled system. So, some of the individual skills wouldn't be seen as much. While his general team based skills would have been there, but not stand out as much.

Fraser made a very good first impact, and faded a bit into the system (with pros and cons) as well. But Fraser seemed to always be the more likely to move with the Newcastle situation.

Let's face it, although, by our standards, we played well for 70 minutes in it, Man United v Saints was a game between 2 of the worst teams in the league. I'm currently watching a game between 2 of the best teams in the country, Newcastle and Bournemouth, and it's a different class: much faster, more competitive and more skilful, with great players, like Isak, Gordon, Guimarães, Kerkez, Zabarnyi, Kluivert and Semenyo, organised by top managers into entertaining, winning teams.  There's no slow, sideways and backwards passing. Both teams are going at it like prize fighters, hell for leather, to win. How on earth did anybody ever see Russell Martin's walking football as being 'entertaining'?

Can we add David Brooks to the list of players Martin abjectly failed to get the best out of? Struggled for us in playoffs in the championship, now starting for a side joint 5th in the Prem.

What a great decision by Lego then to basically make us a rehab team for Bournemouth. Fucking Bournemouth.

At the moment we are well behind both Brighton and Bournemouth. You don't like it. I don't like it but recognise it and believe that we will be back to being top South Coast dog soon.

Mind you we are still well ahead of the blue few.

What on earth are you on about? We got a premier league player on loan who helped us get promoted and their club didn’t want to sell. It was indeed a great decision.
