A stepping stone club, as SR look to capture the US/Netflix market by appointing him as our manager next season? Beard Elite experience to go with asst manager Lallana Consistent playing philosophy ín the face of dreadful results. Looking to bounce back after "failure" / The Mr Football test. 🙂
macca155 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Just watching Swansea get turned over by Pompey. The deluded fools still play Martin ball. Two goals gifted so far. Oh and Grimes is rubbish. Saints might actually stand a chance on the 12th.
Pamplemousse Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Looking more and likely they'll stay up, so that's something to look forward to for next season at least. 20 years since we last beat them at St Mary's!!
Lord Duckhunter Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Fucking woeful team on Arsenal Brentford. Keown, some dopey bird & The cabbage patch doll. The lowlight, “all he did wrong was not clear it”, when Mbeumo gave the ball away instead of clearing it. Where do they get these clowns from.

Fucking waste of time.
Lord Duckhunter Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Arsenal 3-1 up, cabbage patch doll has just told us, “the emphasis is now on Brentford to try and get back in the game”. Fuck me, where would we be without these words of wisdom. She truly can see things we can’t Edited January 1 by Lord Duckhunter

Unless you want to nickname all tv birds with the same name you fucking boring prick. 10 1

The sad fact of life I cant see the current Saints side scoring anything beyond 2 goals even on a good day, which is a bit embarrassing.

Agree with S-Clarke's comment above. Oy Rasmus! NOOOOOOOO!!!! Wayne Rooney would make a TOP, TOP coach/Assistant manager but not the main man. He cannot do it. He just hasn't got it in him. Same as John Carver, Mike Phelan, Steve Mclaren..all good assitant/training ground coaches..awful, awful managers. Rooney had one good stint at Derby county when (like Lampard) had Mel Morries breaking every FFP rule going and signing Premier League players in the championship. Only fairly recent former player who seems to be a decent manager is Carrick. Imo. There's probably more but he's comes from the same'ish "group" as Rooney.

But having conceded that kids want cooler things and that the idea was certainly edgy, decided to greenlight the "fucking boring prick" range. 🙂
Give it to Ron Posted Sunday at 17:33 Posted Sunday at 17:33 We won’t be able to cope with Colby Bishop next year our pansy defence will get bullied. Skates defensively look terrible but up front decent

OttawaSaint Posted Monday at 20:37 Posted Monday at 20:37 (edited) Another game, another moment where I realize that I have no clue what handball is or isn't. Looked like a clear handball by Wolves, VAR says no. Edited Monday at 20:38 by OttawaSaint
Lee On Solent Saint Posted Monday at 21:43 Posted Monday at 21:43 How the fuck are Forest up to third? Everyone was calling them a basket case of a club and now look at them.

Chris Wood said after the game that Nuno Santo tweaks things every week, it's not the same every week - a different approach for every game. A bit different from Russell who told anyone who cared to listen that we'd play the same way every week. Bonkers attitude and a lazy way to manage a football club. 3

He's a brilliant manager, totally owned Martin at St Marys. Changed formation mid game, timely substitutions bosh Forest scored. My seat is uncomfortable close to the away dug out. Saw it all in panovision. His whole coaching team congratulated him. Martin stood there bemused. I knew then we were in trouble. 5

Some bloke called Ross Wilson. Why can't we hire someone like that?

But, he's no fool and he's obviously learned his trade well. Some of Forest's buys have been genius. Ola Aina! Who knew? They got him on a free transfer and he's been absolutely brilliant for them this season. They got Milenković, currently one of the best central defenders in the world, for just £12 mill, rated by many as the best buy by any Premier League club in the last transfer window. Other clubs will be shadowing Forest and Newcastle in this transfer window to find out who they're interested in, because they obviously know what they're doing. It turns out that we've had some of the most talented people in the Premier League pass through this club. You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. 1 2
Chez Posted yesterday at 14:16 Posted yesterday at 14:16 16 hours ago, Lee On Solent Saint said: How the fuck are Forest up to third? Everyone was calling them a basket case of a club and now look at them. Not everyone. Some explained that their promotion winning squad was full of loans, they had a keeper fucking off and lots out of contract players, so they had no choice but to sign a shed load as they had many many gaps to fill. Inevitably, as we well know, quite a few signings didn't work out, and they only just survived, so, using the Brendon Johnson money they attacked the transfer window again with another batch of players but also getting players that didn't work out of the club. Again, they only just survived, but it was more down to poor results than poor performances and players, so recruitment could (and due to FFP had to) be just of a few key players...and here we are. Crazy that they are title challengers, but not a crazy transfer policy. We signed 18 players ourselves this summer and have 6 points to show for it. Now that is a basket case of a club.

It turns out that we've had some of the most talented people in the Premier League pass through this club. You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. His first window with us was broadly worthwhile (and included van Dijk!) But I think Koeman's connections did at least some of the work. The following year, we didn't replace Mane, Pelle, Wanyama or Fonte well enough - all of whom were pivotal players. That was the exact point we went from European contenders to a mid-table side. We really didn't back Puel well at all. Across 2017-18 you've got the holy trinity of Hoedt, Lemina & Carrillo. So... That. A year later, Vestergaard, Elyounoussi & Gunn... I take it Wilson wasn't particularly popular at Rangers either. But yes - credit where it's due, he's had a positive impact at Forest. It is indeed galling to look back to the much-criticised times of Wilson, Puel et al, realising quite how much further there was to fall. 1
