This game is summing up while it will be a long, hard struggle this season.  We look great - until the final 3rd where we look hopeless.

Lots of positives from this game but if a new GK is not in place for the Forest game that would be criminal.

Looks like we have run out of ideas on how to break them down.

We should have scored 3 goals - on another day we would have. It would be more worrying if we didn't create anything.

They have always been well drilled at the back so gifting them a goal when down to ten men was criminal.

A 0-0 while slightly annoying not to beat 10 men would have been a welcome point. To lose this 1-0 to a needless error with their only shot of the game is galling.

Come on Saints!

Shame Sugawara's not taking these corners.

Yep. If he's not injured then that was a shockingly bad tactical switch. Nice lad Edozie, but not EPL quality.

It's a joke we're losing this game but we've looked poor since the subs. Not our day. A lot of good work done but nobody wants to shoot and McCarthy inevitably gifted the opposition a goal.

RM tactics, even after we got promoted is still a massive bone of contention isn't it?

Overall, tactics have been spot on IMO. Just wish McCarthy had ignored orders when he had his brain fart.

I reckon I'm a Curse so I've switched my stream off. That'll help. Maybe.

Got to beat Forest next game. We can do playing like this we just need to tweak the attack. At least the window is still open, an attacking midfielder would really help.

Making use of the young 'uns today rto freshen things up (and give them game time ahead of any decisions in the window).

As above, lots of possession, but fairly controlled by Newcastle. We've made little from all those corners. We're looking for a deflection more than anything. At least KWP is looking for just that.

Because they’re crap. We got promoted despite them, not because of them.

Edozie is garbage, so frustrating

Amo is a better option but RM doesn't seem to think so.

Edozie: He's trying lots of different things - passing through and running behind; stopping and passing back; trying to get to the byline. Zero joy from any of them today.

Still prefer Ryan Fraser to be honest.
