30 minutes of slow chance creation, missed efforts and them making it 2-0 on the counter?

I reckon most of us would've taken a 2-0 defeat before the start of the game but it'll now be so frustrating given the way the game has gone

Got to get at least a point now with how this game has gone.

Even if we lose this (and I hope we don't), there have definitely been some positive signs this match.

Just a bit - it's been a very good performance away against a top 6 side - and we were dominating before they went to 10 men.

Good performance until that absolute shitshow from McCarthy. This game has gone now but tomorrow and Monday has to be about getting a first choice keeper in. It’s not difficult, practically anybody with a pulse woyld be an upgrade on Alex and Baz, and if Martin doesn’t trust the scouts (understandable) then give Mendes or one of other agents a ring, I’m sure they’ve got a keeper looking for a PL opportunity in their books who are at least passable.

I don’t know if the hesitancy to get a first choice keeper is the manager or board. If it’s the former, the club might need to do what Cortese did over Nigel’s head by getting Boruc in.

It’s underwritten by the weird board fetish with Bazunu. They need to get smart as it’s small margins in this league. Reliable keeper is essential. Up to me I’d approach Johnston and then make a final offer to arsenal for ramsdale - either improve us enormously. The way the outfield players are battling deserves a rock at the back.

Shooting gallery and we can't get one.

Indeed. And they score from their only shot on target which we gifted them.

The issue for me is that he clearly had nowhere to go and rather than hoof it the first thought which has been repeated into his brain again and again is pass it don't lump it - hence he made the wrong option.

But he had other viable passes available to him. He didn't need to hoof it. So the decision to pass the ball wasn't in itself a bad one in that situation, but of all the passes he could have made, he chose the worst possible one.

I'm not having that it's down to tactics and instructions. Any half decent keeper should have been able to complete a simple pass there.

KWP our MotM so far

Lots of good performances. I think Aribo has been good too and Sugawara in the first half.

It’s Downes and it’s not even close.

The way I saw it his options were limited and he panicked. The safe option is to put your foot through it with half time just around the corner.

Downes as well. More than holding his own against Bruno and Joelinton

Downes has indeed been top drawer too. We'll have to agree to disagree on how close they are :)

That 'simple pass' was ever even going to leave our own penaly area. If you play around in your own box you'ree only ever going to concede. You're never going to score in their goal.

Agreed, it should have been simple. The fact that McCarthy underhit it show to me that he was not confident in what he was trying to do. It was a bad case of the yips.

Edozie really is not very good.  Flatters to deceive with no end product whatsoever.

I'd certainly have SAA ahead of him.

Honestly think he's another who needs to just go on loan to a middle of the road team, nothing to play for, and just start every week. Like a Bristol City or a Stoke type side

This game is summing up while it will be a long, hard struggle this season.  We look great - until the final 3rd where we look hopeless.

Lots of positives from this game but if a new GK is not in place for the Forest game that would be criminal.

Looks like we have run out of ideas on how to break them down.

Don't fret folks - remember, as the great Nathan Jones once pointed out, playing against 10 men puts you at a massive disadvantage.

Shit - I read that with a Welsh accent in my head 😳
