There isn't even a pass to make there. I've got no idea what he's seen there.

He should never have got a new contract, he was 3rd choice for most of last season. It is neglect from the club to not sign a goalkeeper after the shocker of a preseason he had.

That pass made him £15,000...

What??!?! Our best player subbed off. RM has lost it!

Half a game into the season and we're turning on the manager who got us promoted? That's impressive even by our fans Karenish standards.

Yeah I assume so. No need to play a back 5 against ten men.

I'm expecting KWP to go to RB and Stephens to LB.

Odd with Stephens on a booking and Suga been excellent. Knick perhaps? KWP to right back, Stephens left back?

Hopefully Edozie can have a blinder...

Sugawara being the one to come off baffles me. Should have been Stephens, but of course he's one of Martins beardy banter boys.

So reacting to a bizarre sub is turning on him? Right.

I turned on him long before now.

So this co-commentator doesn't like play-acting when it works against Newcastle, but he recommends they should time-waste as much as possible now to hold on to this lead.

Who is this prick?

FFS.... should be 1-1... Come back Ché, all is forgiven... ;)

We wouldn't have even got a corner if that was Che.

That's a decent effort from Arma.

Don't think people are turning on him. Just pointing out that a goalkeeper shouldn't be made to feel obliged to try to play out from the back when cornered. RM's blind insistence that we do this leads to bad decisions and it has cost us a pathetic goal today when we should have been going in level at half time and confident of getting at least one point if not three. Now it'll be very tough for us.

Difficult to tell what is the biggest overreaction sometimes... ;)

Is this the same McCarthy that was so sound at the end of last season that everyone is rubbishing or have we signed another one?

People seem to have been spooked because in a few practice matches he practiced doing a few things he's not very good at and found he's not very good at them  which is what practice matches are for, I thought.

So he won't do them in a league game, I hope.

Aged like milk this.

I don't think you can even pin this on RM's tactics. It's not like Newcastle pressed us hard into the mistake - there really was no danger. It was just horrifically casual from Macca when he had time and space to do much better with it. It's as if he just switched off when the ball came to him.

Interesting that he's turned to Edozie to change this game after not trusting him at all for most of last season.

RM has shown time and again that he doesn’t like flair players, and then turns to one…. He did counter it by leaving Stephens on (to play out of position) and taking off our best player of the first half…

The issue for me is that he clearly had nowhere to go and rather than hoof it the first thought which has been repeated into his brain again and again is pass it don't lump it - hence he made the wrong option.

Linton is doing everything he can to injure Bednarek - the Ref really needs to watch carefully…don’t think VAR gives a toss.

His name isn’t Joe Linton. It’s Joelinton.

As I said above, I'm assuming he isn't. Apologies to RM and anyone else with hurt feelings if he is indeed injured.

I think the club have buried their head in the sands because we simply can't afford to get a keeper in.

We simply cannot afford to keep this one and hope to get away with it.
