OttawaSaint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 That...is why we need a proper keeper. What the yellow rubbery fuck was that Alex. Total prat! 1
obelisk Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Had to happen. McCarthy passes to opposition in the pen area. They score. 1
Saint Fan CaM Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Oh fuck off McCarthy - utter utter shit after the outfield has been bossing it. 1
Sunglasses Ron Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Haha, standard. Nathan Jones is sat somewhere saying “I told you so”.
Edmonton Saint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 McCarthy has been a fraud for his entire career. Just a hopeless goalkeeper. And we still learn nothing and keep giving this idiot new contract after new contract. Baffles me. 2
OttawaSaint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 All our hard work pissed away, fuck off McCarthy! Cunt! 1
Wade Garrett Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Sky just said we were overplaying at the back. What a fucking surprise! 1
Saint In Cornwall Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 mccarthy just fuck right off you cunt 1
Otto Mann Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Aaaaaaand that's why Macca can't play out from the back ffs
Ralph Fastenbüttl Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Silver lining - club's desire for a new keeper rapidly growing?
Obstacle1 Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 We've played very well this half. All to be undone by a player the entire fanbase knew would do exactly this 13
SouSaint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 The warning signs were there all fucking preseason and the club haven't acted. Failure of a transfer window starting with that clown in goal in a Premier League game. 3
Disco Stu Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 All that good work undone there by stupid tika taka in our box. 1
trousers Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 (edited) McCarthy error then a half-hearted attempt at saving the shot. And that that Ladies and Gentlemen is why we need a keeper upgrade. #blindinglyobvious Edited 17 August, 2024 by trousers 6
RedArmy Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Why the fuck is he passing it back into an area crowded out by 3 Newcastle players when he’s got 2 defenders stood in acres on the other side of the box? Useless 1
saintant Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 There you have it. Going to be tough now and typical of us to shoot ourselves in the foot. We're never great against 10 men. Got to sort this goalkeeper position out. What a time to concede.
BotleySaint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Annoying to be losing to a totally avoidable goal. Even 1 man down they are the stronger team. 1
Wade Garrett Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 McCarthy can’t play football. So why force him to. It’s absolute madness. 6
Steve Cadiz Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 That basic mistake says it all We desperately need to get a goalkeeper in and quick. They should never be 1-0 up 1
Jack Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 That is fucking shocking, but completely predictable 3
Galway saint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 we will concede lots of goals like that given the way we play despite whoever is in goal 1
Disco Stu Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 He's proven he's shit at it so why is he still being instructed to do it? 2
ScandiSaint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Serves us right for being so passive after getting a one man advantage. Could even here Martin shouting "do something with it". Aribo needs to be quicker. 1
SNSUN Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 We knew it was going to happen. Hopefully cements a new keeper coming in. Not over though. Heads up lads. 1
beatlesaint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 That might be a blessing in disguise cos if they don’t realise now we need a decent keeper they never fkin will !!! 2
Saint_clark Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 In fairness the pass from McCarthy was horrendous but we shouldn't be passing back to him in that circumstance. Stephens was further forward than the fucking newcastle player, just turn around and play it forward. 3

woodsaint1 Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Was our 3rd choice GK six months ago and should have been released in the summer. But no we give him a new contract and he starts for us in the PL 💩 5
jamesfp1 Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Spend however much is needed on a keeper. Tonight. 3
Saint Matty 76 Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Such a shame. We've been really good here in possession and the thing everybody saw coming has cost us yet again. We need more chances created in the second half, as expected it's been all from the wing-backs. I'd get Dibling on ASAP. 1
Disco Stu Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Still scarred from the last time we played 10 and then 9 men Newcastle.
RedArmy Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 Just now, Saint_clark said: In fairness the pass from McCarthy was horrendous but we shouldn't be passing back to him in that circumstance. The pass back isn’t a problem if somebody had pointed to him where to play it rather than straight back into 3 Newcastle players.
Nordic Saint Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 4 hours ago, Nordic Saint said: Until we get a new goalkeeper, it looks like it's going to be about outscoring the opposition, 3-2 or 4-3, but to do that we need a new striker. On a more positive note, the transfer window's not closed yet and Brereton-Diaz looks like he's got a few goals in him so maybe he'll score today. Then, if Dibling comes on as a sub, he could score another one. So, then the result would depend on how many shots on target Newcastle get. If we can keep them down to 2 or 3, we just might get a 2-2 draw; probably not though. Later in this thread, I'm expecting the inevitable, "Oh no, McCarthy" and "passing around at the back again." Well that was inevitable.
Hopper Posted 17 August, 2024 Posted 17 August, 2024 You can’t blame Martin or the rest of the team. The game to that point was perfectly played. That’s just fucking awful from Macca. Need a new keeper NOW. 5 1
