The warning signs were there all fucking preseason and the club haven't acted. Failure of a transfer window starting with that clown in goal in a Premier League game.

McCarthy error then a half-hearted attempt at saving the shot. And that that Ladies and Gentlemen is why we need a keeper upgrade.  #blindinglyobvious

Why the fuck is he passing it back into an area crowded out by 3 Newcastle players when he’s got 2 defenders stood in acres on the other side of the box?

Useless

There you have it. Going to be tough now and typical of us to shoot ourselves in the foot.  We're never great against 10 men. Got to sort this goalkeeper position out. What a time to concede.

In fairness the pass from McCarthy was horrendous but we shouldn't be passing back to him in that circumstance. Stephens was further forward than the fucking newcastle player, just turn around and play it forward.

Such a shame. We've been really good here in possession and the thing everybody saw coming has cost us yet again.

We need more chances created in the second half, as expected it's been all from the wing-backs. I'd get Dibling on ASAP.

The pass back isn’t a problem if somebody had pointed to him where to play it rather than straight back into 3 Newcastle players.

Until we get a new goalkeeper, it looks like it's going to be about outscoring the opposition, 3-2 or 4-3, but to do that we need a new striker. On a more positive note, the transfer window's not closed yet and Brereton-Diaz looks like he's got a few goals in him so maybe he'll score today. Then, if Dibling comes on as a sub, he could score another one. So, then the result would depend on how many shots on target Newcastle get. If we can keep them down to 2 or 3, we just might get a 2-2 draw; probably not though.

Later in this thread, I'm expecting the inevitable, "Oh no, McCarthy" and "passing around at the back again."

Well that was inevitable.

You can’t blame Martin or the rest of the team. The game to that point was perfectly played. That’s just fucking awful from Macca. Need a new keeper NOW.
