They weren't conned. If one of our players did that I'd be pissed off at them for giving the ref a reason to send him off.

The thing is, if Diaz doesn't "make the most of it" then the ref probably doesn't give it, even though it was technically a red, regardless of the over-reaction.

Of course but that's wrong. I remember an Inter player headbutting Sam McQueen and him not going down because he didn't want to play act, and the ref didn't even give a yellow.
