Oil-rich Venezuela’s economy entered freefall after Mr Maduro took the helm. Plummeting oil prices, widespread shortages and hyperinflation that soared past 130,000 per cent led first to social unrest and then mass emigration. However, Cuba said Mr Maduro had delivered an “historic electoral triumph”, while China said it “stands ready to enrich our all-weather strategic partnership”.

I see there's a deafening silence from the lefties on this site. I'll fill in the gap, inspired by Herman Munster:

I can't speak for others, but I couldn't give a monkeys about the politics of Venezuela, or your opinion about it.
