It does matter as you should be prefixed Mr and Mrs if that’s always been the case. If you want to be described as something else then you personally ask for that change through the registration process.

What a weird thing to get annoyed by. It doesn't ask for gender when you add friends/family and I've only seen the MX on tickets for names that could be male or female like Joe, Charlie etc.

Well yeah, I don’t think anyone would argue with that, would they? There’s literally no one who thinks that people should be changed to Mx against their will. 
 

That’s not the only point you were making in your opening post though is it? You said ‘it’s Mr Mrs and Miss only’ which isn’t true. You choose what you want and let anyone else choose what they want, and no one needs to worry about if others choose Mx or not. 
 

Also, as Ant said above it’s literally a mistake on the part of the ticket purchaser 😂
