Looks like this will likely be announced tomorrow. A cracking deal if the fee is correct at up to €7m, add-ons included

Bittersweet - whilst he appears to be a good signing it almost certainly means we say goodbye to Kyle. He has big shoes to fill.

TBH I'd always assumed that was likely even if we were promoted, so it's hardly a surprise. If anything surprised me it's that he stayed last season, so if he leaves it'll be with my best wishes.

Anyway, now let's get cracking on some 'sugar' based songs for the new guy.

It can't be perfect if it doesn't mention his hatred of Portsmouth (that he's probably never heard of).

Simple yet effective - our new Northam Wall are gonna urgently need some more chants, 90mins of OWTS and the usual skates crap will be painful.

Cheers KWP, as mentioned, big boots to fill and strangely never did have a chant for him - Sugawara will get one immediately.

Before we get too carried away it's not pronounced like the English for sugar it's pronounced su - gah so none of the songs will make sense to him

Would never have thought (in the 70's or 80's) that The Archies, Sugar Sugar, would have been something to consider singing on the terraces !. 

For pure nostalgia, had a look on Youtube for it being played on TOTP or similar. From 1969. Strange and sad to think that all the slim little Doris's in mini-skirts then, are now possibly grannies, with tits down to their knees. Or dead.

Agreed. I love Kyle. All the very best to Kyle if he leaves and ditto to Sugawara if he is ours.

Top 10 Sugawara Saints Terrace songs:
 Yukinari Sugawara seems about to sign a four year deal as new Southampton player according to his previous team AZ today – and now fans are planning his terrace tune. Greeted as “a cracking deal “ on saintsweb community, they are planning songs to serenade Yukinari Sugawara onto the pitch, and to celebrate when he breaks up an attack or scores. 
In the UK, not every player gets a song.  Football fans try out different songs and if everyone joins in, that becomes a player’s song. Yeah, makes sense from a marketing Ng point of view to hold fire on player incoming announcements until after kit launch.
