THB says he wants to stay in the England squad after this, so that’s him gone in the summer because he knows he won’t get picked in the championship

He's hardly going to say "no I just want to play in these couple of games and that's me done for England", is he.

Let's see how much Tuchel is interested in selecting him before everyone gets too carried away.

Got to be a PL team wanting to buy him as well - don't let the fact he's been picked in the England team overshadow the fact that for the most part he's been pretty poor this season.

He has been poor but how much is down to how he's being asked to play, under a different manager he could thrive , the lad has definitely potential unlike a lot of our other players

What, like Kompany who decided not to buy him? He was good in the Championship last year using the same tactics, so what's changed this year? Oh yes, the quality of opposition.

It was more about, he becomes another guaranteed leaver when we are relegated under this shambles

Everyone is looking  pretty poor this season bar a couple but we all know what is the cause

But he didn't last season under the same system and manager, so I'm assuming it's the step up in quality.

Obviously, but compounded by the ludicrous refusal to adapt.

I must have missed the Flying V formation/set up last term...

Maybe. He signed a four year contract with a team he would have a reasonable idea would be in this exact situation.

His long contract means we won't be flogging him cheap, so someone is going to have to stump up some cash to get him out. With Ronnie Edwards already in the building maybe it would be good business if Forest give us £35m for him.

But yeah if your starting point is everyone good will leave then fill your boots but that has absolutely nothing whatsoever with THB giving some generic interview quotes or getting picked for England at all.

You're right I missed the 70 odd goals we conceded last season  but funny under Kompany they let in around 40, but yep nothing to do with RM the football genius

Perhaps he can persuade his future father-in-law to join him on the south coast as manager. I'd bet a small fortune that our sloppy play would soon be a thing of the past along with quite a few of the players who take th piss in training.

How do you know they take the piss in training

Of course he did such a brilliant job at Sunderland and especially Ipswich whose players who we guess were "not taking the p in training" resulted in them achieving nothing and being in the Championship relegation zone when he was sacked.

But yeah, he'd sort everything out and no mistake.

I'm talking specifically about THB. He looked far better last season under RM. If he played like he has this year, last year, we wouldn't have signed him IMO (I'm aware we had to as it was tied to promotion).

I'm just not convinced he's a PL defender, sorry.

I think the training implemented is taking the piss causing it to be piss poor on the pitch

Why sorry? Everyone's entitled to their opinion, I also didn't say he was PL quality, I said ' he could thrive under different manager' he may or may not just my opinion as I think there's some potential in him

He also has 8-10 years on some of the current England defenders, and in time his turn will come.  Whether it be with Saints, or elsewhere... time will tell.

Guess the only person who won’t be happy about it is his future father in law

And Russell Martin, won't be pleased with him picking up these habits when he could have headed it back to a team mate and retain possession

Good point. The genius will be frustrated by that. He’ll be benched at the weekend as a lesson

Perfect England senior debut for Taylor - looked very assured with one lovely bit of control when he brought down a dropping ball and quickly laid it off then a super header for the goal. Great experience for the lad.

I wonder at what point in the last week his head has been turned?

He's already been at Man City and realised he had to leave to get these opportunities so would hope he wouldn't rush back to a top 6 until he's established himself a bit more

Good to see Livramento doing well after that bad injury he had with us

OK Ireland were down to 10 men, but they didn't give up without a fight.

THB looked calm and relaxed at the back and took his goal chance really well.    What start to an England career.

Stick him up top for the foreseeable. More prolific than any striker we have.

No point, that ball doesn’t go in if it’s us, we’d cut back, pass it sideways, backwards and the chance is gone

Apparently smiled at the goal.

He was quite amusing after when they said about it being his son in law, said it’s not a done deal yet and things can change quickly. Also said about being a nice lad and family done a good job

Pougatch: “for those that don’t know THB is Roy’s future son-in-law”

Keane: “ah well, it’s not done and dusted yet” 😀😀

Can see him going to Man Utd in the summer - Wilcox knows him and Taylor needs to keep his future Father-in-Law sweet 🙂

RM won't be pleased with Manning either as he had the only shot on target for Ireland.

Or on the flip side Keane fancies managing us
