24/25 Fixtures

Recommended Posts

With the fixture list being released in the morning who we want

1st away match

1st home match
Christmas fixtures

last home match

last match

Personally

1st away match - Man Utd (catch them cold)

1st home match - Spurs (good test)
Christmas fixtures - Bournemouth/ Brighton/ Fulham/ Brentford/ Palace (all relatively local & winnable)

last home match - Newcastle (hopefully nothing to play for)

last away match - Palace (recreate dellhurst)

Tougher fixtures to start with please while we finalise the squad by the end of the window, then easier fixtures at the end of the season when we may need points on the board.

Brentford at home is my prediction for first fixture.

We need an east start to get points on the board early. Else we will end up adrift and playing catch up and that never ends well. I would like to see us get teams like Brentford, Forest, Ipswich, Everton perhaps though they are a bit of a bogey team for us. It would be nice if we could have at least 1.5 points per game in the bag after say 5 or 6 games. Then we should have a bit of breathing room on the bottom three nice and early.

First game of the season: Villa away

Forest home game of the season: Forest at home

Boxing Day: away to Palace

New Years Day: away to Fulham

Final game of the season: Arsenal at home

(The DT disclosure - this is a prediction, not a fact you weasel). 👍🏻

I guess Ipswich is as east as it gets this season 😅😉

Very tough start away at Newcastle. Need to avoid an absolute battering, morale wise. Could happen. Also need to be safe by Arsenal on last day. Win all the games in between...simple. 😉

Better hope we've got enough points to stay up by the end of April, cos May looks horrendous 😬

I dunno, can write off the Man City game but Everton and Leicester away are (or should be winnable) and title race could be over by the last game with Arsenal.

We will get Fulham in our first game, PL scriptwriters giving us the team who relegated us back in 2023

I think we managed that ourselves without needing any help from them.

First away - Everton, before they get a chance to sort themselves out

First home - Fulham. Probably the quietest away fans so the new Red Wall can break theselves in gently.

Xmas. - Nice and local, Brentford, Palace Chelsea, Brighton, any of those would be good

Final game - Bournemouth, so we can laugh at their (unlikely) relegation

Pretty well balanced set of fixtures with no absolute horror runs (on paper).

Statistically the 3rd kindest start so need to be picking up points across those first 6 games.

Of a quick check of likely bottom third teams wouldnt say anyone has a really bad run in except maybe Bournemouth.

Looking at those, it seems a little  bit less daunting than I thought it would.  Not that it is going to be easy. And we do need a decent number of decent players incoming. But otherwise......

My thoughts too, couldnt have asked for a much better balanced set of fixtures to be honest, there are no horrendous 6/7 game runs where you think "oh ffs" !!

& White Hart Lane

Think your memory might be playing tricks on you.

Spurs beat Man U 2-1 in their last game at WHL, and we lost our last game there (also 2-1) a couple of months before that.

They went unbeaten at home in final season though so we were the last team to win there in penultimate game of 15/16.

Doesn't appear that any of our games are "key"... welcome back to the Premier League... ;)

I think the Chelsea fans will be more upset that none of their games are "Key".

We’ll be the last ever visitors to Goodison.

Hopefully another 'Micheal Svennson' Main Road moment and result then.
