Matthew Le God Posted 10 June, 2024 Posted 10 June, 2024 Football Manager 2025 is bringing some huge changes! Can't complain this year is simply a 'data update'! The biggest one that will make the most difference is that Football Manager will no longer be made using an in house engine. Instead it will use all the benefits of the Unity game engine, which will see huge advances in the user interface and the match graphics. Womens football is also making its debut, so you can manage Southampton's men and womens teams. Plus, for the first time ever Sports Interactive have the licence for the Premier League! They already have the EFL and UEFA licences.
S-Clarke Posted 10 June, 2024 Posted 10 June, 2024 Probably the most I've looked forward to an FM game for years, maybe ever. Don't think you can underestimate how much a difference the Unity Engine is going to make to the match engine graphics. Graphically this is going to feel pretty immersive. I assume it'll still be aiming for the Nov release, can't wait for the beta.

It'll be similar to recent games. Late Oct/early Nov. Using Unity will make a huge difference, there will be a big leap in graphics compared to using the current in house engine as they have done for the last 30 years.
skintsaint Posted 15 June, 2024 Posted 15 June, 2024 Not much of an update for my playstyle, don't play with 3D graphics and download all the kits/badges etc anyway, and women's football 😅 Will wait for the big 75% sale again.

The entire game is being re-written for Unity. Not just the 3D graphics. For all those that complain each year is a data update... this one certainly isn't. This is the closest to a sequel you will get. It is essentially Football Manager 2!

Matthew Le God Posted 26 August, 2024 Author Posted 26 August, 2024 12 million people have played FM24 and that doesn't include those that play on Apple Arcade. Up 97% year on year!
badgerx16 Posted 5 September, 2024 Posted 5 September, 2024 As an aside, FM2024 for PC is at this moment in time FREE on EPIC games.
Matthew Le God Posted 8 September, 2024 Author Posted 8 September, 2024 Game now has a release date in late November. More information about FM25 will be revealed in late September.

So, I imagine they'll still be looking to get a release out there. They can argue that 6 months on a title is still good value, even if they don't discount it a bit. Considering they're using this as the basis of years to come, getting it right ( without various add on modes) is vital for them.
AlexLaw76 Posted 12 October, 2024 Posted 12 October, 2024 Absolutely will not be buying it with about 8 weeks left of the season better off releasing an update to FM24 and releasing a more rounded product for FM26

FM24 sold over 12 million copies. FM25 will be impacted by the delay, but they'd still sell a lot of copies of a delayed FM25. For example CM4 was delayed until March 2003 and was still the biggest selling PC game of the year.

Even if it isn't 12 million copies like FM24... it would still be a fortune in lost revenue if they skipped a year. So no chance SEGA would consider that. Edited 12 October, 2024 by Matthew Le God
