We came into this worrying about our defence. They have been the best part of the team up to now including JP.

Attack Midfield, wow. It’s like watching back side back side long wasted ball back short long wasted ball can’t pass.

Im sorry can’t pick out individuals, not fair. But if I have to, Southgate, it can’t be the players.

TBF the big guns haven’t exactly ripped up tree’s including England.

Come up against Spain, we are fu?£ed on this performance.

Different game same old shit - clueless. No movement, gaps between players too big, poor passing, lack of courage to commit men forward. Cowardly display presided over by Mr Negative.

He has to make changes…. But I suspect it will be TAA for Gallagher

You know it. Obvious choice is Bellingham in alongside Rice, Gordon wide left, Foden in the hole although if he's done nothing in 20 mins I'd like to see Palmer on.

I am having the same feelings at half time as I was having during a fair number of saints games last season!

This is like the worst days of Russball. Hopefully Southgate can adapt at half time, and certainly in the next game. Currently no pace, no movement, no innovation

Slovenia organised, with no nonsense, structured passing moves. They've not picked up a few good runs too.

England got better, but that was really because it followed Slovenia possession and there was a bit more room.

Some sloppy passing. Neither Rice nor Gallagher ever choosing to push through the middle, when they could. Instead, always out wide and then back. Saka is marshalled out there.

Kane dropping deep, but Bellingham not pushing up.

Foden more involved. Has license to go infield. But only the one move where Bellingham then moved out from the centre to give more link up options, did that really work. Foden not best pleased with right footed Trippier at times.

Yet Foden did a nice run for the offside effort. And a Foden run allowed Trippier to come in on his right foot to put in a good ball.

Patient and with lots of possession. But lacking the drive and incisive passing as yet.

Keane “taking the safe option every time” sums it up

Neville saying we look basic, both bang on

basic is a very good description

Well at least Southgate is consistent in his total lack of tactics  - basic and more basic.

that seems to be the housewives favourite move, but when is the last time he played in that deeper role?

This team is surely improved with Gordon & Shaw on the left so that we have some genuine options (🤞). Everyone knows to gang up on Saka & Bellingham. They know Kane is safe to leave on the ball provided he is outside the area (ie most of the time)

Can Cole Palmer play on the left? I really haven't seen him play

One less player for Southgate to mismanage tbf.

Let’s change the players - it doesn’t matter who he picks it’s his fucking lack of motivation, tactics just everything Southgate is and always will be a defender.

Mainoo on. Should have come for TAA in the last game and for this one. Southgate got there in the end.

The wrong change at this stage though, we need more width on the left and someone to commit their defenders, it's only bloody Slovenia.. We didn't need another CM to pass it backwards at this stage.

I’m sorry but Bellingham, is not all that.  He’s taking Fodens position and he’s also been sh?t

Bellingham would be eaten alive in the Prem. Oh perhaps that’s why he has avoided the league………….

Just shows that the Prem is fantastic because it is full of international players and managers.

English players under Southgate just can’t gel together. Need an English manager next, but can’t help feeling we need to go overseas to win anything.

Don’t want that but English manager versus silverware is a big question.

Just seen the changes, says it all change 1 position for the start of the game, and change it again at half time.

This is why Southgate should be strung up for how he's making our players look. He really isn't shit.

Bellingham is top level, elite class. No one can look good in a Southgate team. We don't have a problem with the players in the final third of the team, they are all good enough without question. They are being strangled by a manager who has swallowed a book on how to defend a 0-0.

No idea, but with Rice sitting deep, we don't need someone else playing the same way. Mainoo in there and no other change sums this manager up.

Hmmm, not sure about your Bellingham conclusion, but he's been terrible in this tournament so far. He had some poor games for Real towards the end of the season too.  He appears to have a completely free role, a bit like at Real, so you can't even point to him being played out of position.

Think Foden has looked extremely bright in this game.. Easily our best player in the first half.

Yeah bottled a move to Brentford and took the easy option to Real Madrid

Our potential opponents in what is currently our side of the draw will hardly be quaking in their boots at the prospect of playing England.

It’s the missus’ birthday so out in a posh restaurant and missing the game… 0-0 after 60+ minutes doesn’t sound encouraging?

suspect a little insight into your menu would be about as interesting as the evening gets for most on here.

This England performance with all its sideways and backwards passing must be like a soft porn film for Russell Martin !

We need to forget the soft stuff and get some Hawk Tuha going.

C'mon Gareth. You know what to do.
