What a crock of diarrhoea that was. Yes we have a plethora of talent at our disposal but we are managed by Mr Bean.

Watching the players come out of the tunnel for the first half they didn’t appear hyped up and looked totally unmotivated and thats pretty much how they performed alongside clueless, negative, uninspired football.

Offered nothing, hence why all the pundits are saying it.

He was hardly the biggest problem. Poor analysis to just focus on him. No mention of the midfield shit show in the first half…

Wharton and Mainoo are both very exciting young players

Palmer is a very exciting winger.

Yet Southgate is trying to reinvent the wheel. Fucking sick of him

He has at least been coherent at the last 3 tournaments. This one he’s lost the plot I think. Throwing together combinations that have never been tried and it’s not working.

Guehi about the only player able to eat his dinner tonight knowing that he’s earned it - being short changed by that powder puff Rice pass and retrieving the situation, anyone else would have made a half arsed dogs dinner of that: even if they had the gumption.

Had days of listening to politicians not answering the question posed to them and then along comes Southgate and trumps them all - and Lineker and Ferdinand have the cheek to say he was honest.

Utter crap. Uninspiring and boring. A team reflecting their manager’s personality perfectly. Can you imagine him giving them the hairdryer treatment at half time? Rhetorical question. You need that when it’s not working and he simply hasn’t got it in him.

I think we've been one of the worst teams in the Euro's up to now, I've seen everyone twice and we are utter garbage.

Slow, passive, absolutely boring as all shit to watch.

Nothing to look forward to with this lot.

Gareth saying we don't have anyone to play Kalvin Phillips role. Umm, let me point you into the direction of the two fricking players you bought in Wharton and Mainoo. Bizarre management of the highest order up to now. Whole team is a disjointed mess of square pegs.

Do we not have any other DMs than Kalvin Phillips - is that actually true?!?

That comment summed him up entirely really. He seems to think we need two DM's in the side, i.e. Rice and Phillips. Such a passive manager, dull as dishwater.

We have some of the best attackers in the entire world in the front 4, statistically from this season they are the best in the world. Somehow we are making them invisible, that's not down to the players.

A decent manager would find a way round it, with the players available to him:

He is a timid excuse of a manager. If he had anything about him he'd have made sure we put Italy to the sword after Luke Shaw's goal against them in the last final but instead of going for the jugular we did what all Southgate teams do - we went into our protective shell and tried to hold on to the one nil. Italy were a poor side and nothing to be afraid of unless you're Gareth Southgate of course.

Sure Kane said something along the lines of not being sure who was meant to be going forward and pressing...and the guys in the studio said they need to do some 'drills' on the training pitch to sort it out.

Jesus...sounds like the under 13s down the rec on a Sunday morning.

Southgate, before the match: "My focus is to get qualified from the group,..."

Which he's now achieved.

BBC after it, pointing out that we're all wrong about Trent:"No player created more chances (3) or played more line-breaking passes in the final third (5) for England against Denmark than Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite him being subbed off in the 54th minute."

The amount of times those players come up against the high press or play in that system themselves and yet we could not deal with Denmarks. Our passing was beyond poor, in fact everything about our game was clueless.

Southgate is of the old school type managers that should have been put out to pasture long ago and his style is not relevant in todays modern game.

Pretty poor from England , they don't have any control in midfield,  Denmark have been given the space to come forward at will.

They didn't seem to know what the plan was and in the end couldn't even do tippy tappy without giving the ball away , hopeless .

I am sorry but that was utter utter shit, great goal by the danes who should of won.

World class players become shit players for england and that is down to the manager.

Him lamenting the lack of phillips so he could play 2 DM's, play fucking Mainoo then he can break forward and support the rest or sit if Declan goes forward.

I feel like this is groundhog day for the umpteenth tournament in a row.

doing it now… at the Euros

Why

Absolutely unbelievable to admit that during a tournament.

Thought Saka's high point was being Saka by falling over as soon as someone got within 1km of him.

I got the sense Rice was having to work too hard

Thought guehi was quality, though walker was good, thought ball rentention was fucking horrific and if Kane can explain who he was passing to for their goal i'd like to know, not to pick on him but a lot of players kept playing the ball out of defence on the sides back into the centre to get picked off !!

Typical England, no passion, played like statues. This is shaping up to be another tournament where they limp into the knockouts and get beaten by the first big team they meet. Why can't they show a bit of passion for once?

Awful display and lucky to get a point out of that.

Turned the ball over so many times, especially in our own half. Will be like watching us play Russball in the PL. Horrible watch.

Even a point in the next game limps us through...

That’s the madness of it. He’s had ages to prepare for this. If he wasn’t going to take Henderson he must have known that ages ago, so should have been finding the alternative way ahead of the tournament. Yet he leaves it until the actual competition begins to start experimenting with mad shit like TAA in midfield, something that any average fan could see wouldn’t work.

I’ve really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but that’s bang up incompetence.

Shearer in particular just can't bring himself to criicise his mate Southgate. Whereas anyone still defending southgate either suffers from serious bias or is so tactically illiterate they may as well be watching rugby

The man's a tit, an absolute tit. He waxed lyrical all game about Harry Kane and his goal, how expertly taken it was, how he opened his body, how he got good connection.  Fuck me, it was a tap in from 6 yards that I could probably finish 99 times out of 100 and I'm a pensioner...! Shearers a complete fraud as a pundit, get rid and save the beeb half a million annually.

Thankfully not in the country to hear all the post mortem stuff but familiar dross served up. Southgate needs to fuck off, stymies players we know are good enough. His role is solely to get cohesion and the fucker is happy holding one nil.
whilst feel a bit for TAA and the bs hype but playing him in midfield is on the manager. Play Mainoo FFS

and fuck this Declan Rice love in

I felt sorry for Rice, he had Trent alongside him strolling about like a spare right back and Bellingham in front poncing about like he’s some sort of god who doesn’t need to bother working for the team anymore.

I noticed it, on comms he was all over Kane but then at end of match he's talking about his legs going etc

Southgate: "We know it’s an experiment and we know that we don’t have a natural replacement for Kalvin Phillips."

As he dips into the twix family pack at home, spare a thought for Kalvin. Had he had even a half decent season, there was a place there, just waiting for him.

If Southgate required that role, then he should be picking players to fit it. His team's have rarely transitioned well, and link up play is often iffy. So suddenly telling Rice and Bellingham to adjust to try and accommodate TAA is foolish. We saw how disjointed it made the team.

If he picked Mainoo to do that job, then play him. If he has to tell Rice to focus only on that, then do it and bring in another proper midfielder. That would seem to be Gallagher. Or play Wharton. 3 options that he's got available, but backed off of to accommodate TAA.

You can't bemoan the lack of a specialist in the role, when there were opportunities to pick others, and when the option is there to play those that did make the squad.

He has to pick the players best suitable for that role. That's not TAA and it's not Gallagher.

As he drivelled on failing to understand what was goin on in front of him, I was thinking about how rubbish his own managerial record was. 5 points from 24.
