Old timer needs your help with the words of the songs we sing!

I'd really appreciate it of anyone would take the trouble to write the words out of the songs we now sing.   In particular - our version of Freed from desire by GALA

and the Aribo indestructible song please!

Plus any others you think of that might be a bit tricky to pick up on.

Thanks guys.

I'd love that too! I asked before but didn't get a response so hopefully you will this time. If you can't work it out, you can't join in!

Any other song words would be great too...but not the Pompey scum one...that's all the woman behind me sings and I already know the words 😆

Aribo, bo

Your're indestructible

Always believe in Aribo

Walker-Peters:

There's a star man running down the right,

His name is Walker-Peters

And he's fucking dynamite.

(Tune of David Bowie - Starman)

Aribo:

As above.

(Tune of Spandau Ballet - Gold)

S. Armstrong:

Oh Martin said "we're gonna play him in centre mid",

Oh words can't describe,

When we see him in the red and white,

His hair is fine,

Scores belters all the time,

That's why we sing this song

For Stuart Armstrong.

(Tune of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - Enola Gay)

Adams:

Ché,

Ché will tear you apart again.

(Tune of Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart)

Mara:

Sekou, olé olé olé,

Sekou, olé olé olé,

Comes from Bordeaux,

Scores goals you know,

Sekou olé olé olé.

Also:

Follow, follow, follow,

We're the best team on the South Coast.

We play in red and white,

We're fucking dynamite,

And we've got Joe Aribo.

Some of these won't be relevant next season, but hey.

There's obviously more, but tried to keep it to the ones that may be a touch less easy to pick out by ear, as requested.

Stuff like 'Liebherr Wonderland' and the umpteen chants about the skates still get aired on a weekly basis.

That said I definitely felt like there were more chants (and more variety of tunes) for the last promoted squad.

Think we got a bit burnt by the couple of seasons which ended with a lot of outgoings - then with diminishing performances.

For the former situation there was a feeling of 'well, they'll only be here for a season or so; why get attached...?'

It's a hangover we should probably have ditched by now.

We'll also lose a couple of chants about promotion/getting promoted now it's happened.

Trouble is also that as soon as one club's fans end up on social media debuting a chant to a novel tune, every other fanbase seems to blindly attempt to copy/paste it into their own repertoire.

That crap chant about the skates spending 10 more years in League One (🙄) was half-inched.

We really don’t have many songs do we?

Songs have come and gone.

I like the newer slow version of 'Oh when the Saints go marching in' but I miss the old faster repeated version that would go on and on and on.  We very rarely sing that now.

Other chants like 'Oh Wei! Oh Wei! Oh Wei! We are the Saints! We are the Saints' seem to have completely disappeared (maybe not a bad thing in this case).

belters from our back catalogue which can be revisited anytime

“Look like a Wotsit you fucking look like a wotsit” at any ginger player

“Liverpool” at man united fans

“small town in Villa” at Birmingham or wolves fans

”steeeeeeeeeeve” at any player called steve

“he’s got a mars bar on his head” classic all year round Bantz

I still do at home, start slow then I speed up to that and then keep going for ages.

Thank you very much everyone who has replied.  I am sure there will be others who will benefit from your posts.  We are the famous Southampton and we won at Wembley - Wembley !!!!   😇

I thought a fair few were singing "your defence is terrified"... i don't know if i've now screwed myself over thinking i hear that... but when i watch it back some of the videos, that's often what i can hear 🤣🤣.

Pretty sure it was onrignally sung by Wigan fans for Will Grigg (will griggs on fire, your defence is terrified) but everyone else has nicked it and adapted

Went big in the World Cup was it? Or maybe Euros.

Thankfully most teams have stopped now, along with the horrendous "don't take me home" song which has to be one of the worst ever (the wotsit chant excepted)

Our goal music is a song called Kernkraft 400 by Zombie Nation. The lyrics are - "oooooh oh oh oh ohhh ohh oh, oooh ohohoh oh oh oh oooohh"

Hope this helps.
