Wembley Tickets - extra tickets also SOLD OUT

I have a work colleague who is a long standing Leeds fan.

Leeds have sold out their fan allocation of 32000 tickets.

The other near 3000 tickets were retained by the club for their staff/mates.

Remember what Saints did in the semi at WBA - kept 300 seats for themselves....

You can rest assured that SFC have done the same to a lesser or higher degree for the final.

Leeds fans needed to have been to 9 home games this season on a membership. The rest went to ST holders. Or at least that's what a Leeds fan I know told me today.

So the only moaning as far i can see about not getting tickets, are those that have only been to 1 or 2 games this season - those season ticket holders & those who followed the club around the country are all sorted??

Fair enough i say!

Pompeys last trip to Wembley fans needed a season ticket for 40 years and been to at least 18 away games every season since 1990 to just get into the ballot for a ticket

Bit concerned that tickets need to be posted. Postal service is very intermittent for me these days. Did I miss an e-ticket option?

edit: have checked and seen all are paper! Could be dodgy given how slow post is these days!

They’re using a third party rather than Royal Mail, I think? I’m sure there was some mention of that. Something about a third party company who specialise in fast turnaround of event tickets in tight timeframes. Or have I imagined this?!

Yes postal only and delivered by a specialist third party. Some task to send out 35.6k tickets but hopefully they arrive before the end of the week.

I also had the timeout issue this morning during payment which annoyingly locked me out of buying any until 30 mins later when they rejected the purchase. Then I could go back in and try again. At this point I just bought the first seats I clicked on to just make sure I had tickets.

I think the short timeframes have resulted in priority being a bit blurred. Seems unfair to open up blocks later on, that season ticket holders or members with strong purchase history this season should have had first refusal on. Overall I'm just happy to be going but do feel like the sales process could have been easier, more fair and less stressful!

in the section Seat Map … “following the advice from the EFL, the Club will be using an external 3rd party to dispatch our tickets. They have many years of experience in dispatching tickets for large venues such as Wembley Stadium in a short space of time, due to their staff resource.”

Is the third party merely being used to dispatch the tickets and Royal Mail still being used to deliver them? Really hope this isn’t the case as some people will be still waiting next week for their ticket! Put it in a box and say it’s a tracked parcel and it would be there tomorrow.

Yes it does matter, it’s excessive and should only be two extra. These extra ticket will go to people who hardly go to games.

We could be talking 500 more tickets that could go to real fans.

By the criteria we were at, people were buying who haven’t attended a game in years anyway…

I hope they get inundated with Best Offer of £30.

People selling tickets on eBay should be reported to the club, the fool has left their supporter number on there as well...

Yes.  No chance any 'third party' is set up to deliver the 'final miles'.  Bulk sending and getting them to the sorting office would be about the extent of it.

Seen a few Leeds fans claiming they’ve got tickets in our end by buying a membership and having sat in the home end at St Mary’s for previous games against Leeds. Suspect nearly all of them are bullshitting but if any of them have done that it should be easy enough for the club to cancel tickets for anyone whose only past ticket history is against Leeds.

Why would they bother?

All the tickets have been sold.  The club will get the money for them.  Doing anything more will only cost the club - time and more money - that it doesn't need to spend.  Any 'issues' with fan segregation will be for Wembley to deal with, not the club.

There's bloody loads of them all over social media claiming to have done it, and the skates joining in as well rejoicing in having a new myth to spread through propaganda. In someways both their fan bases are similar , inferiority complex resulting in them feeling the need to tell everyone what great support they have constantly.  I remember plenty of visits to Elland Road over the years with lots of empty seats.

If you look at your confirmation email the postage element has VAT on it, a £1.35 first class stamp on its own doesn’t attract VAT, once you add a service like signed for, or special delivery then that is VAT’able.
There are many private mailing companies out there that are regulated and can ensure a specified delivery by using many means. Whistl is one of them.

As an aside I was told l long ago by a postmaster that if you want something to get there with no value inside Signed for is better value than Special Delivery as they go in the same bag and through the same route at the sorting office, you are just not paying for the insurance.

Because it is Southampton Football Club who sold the tickets, if there's problems kicking off in our end its because the club stupidly let members with no purchase history buy to make a quick buck.

I havent made it to games this season as I run my business on a saturday, and so to a degree I dont deserve tickets, but I have lived the clubs ups and downs for 50+ years. I just hope that the tickets have gone to proper fans and not day trippers. Oh well UTS

Don't worry, relax! This is not a Cup Final Nick, only just another game in the EFL Championship to decide third place! It'll be on the box anyway.

It amazes me that at most home games we can barely fill SM stadium yet when the magic word "Wembley" appears every Tom, Dick & Harry feels that they are entitled to a ticket. It is why genuine lifelong fans like you get squeezed out through no fault of your own.

Im very happy for people who have been to games this season rightfully getting tickets, but seeing them on ebay at the expense of others is galling. I cant be seen as a full time fan as this season I have been awol, but I still live and feel the stress, bloody hell im on here living it as well. Saints fans deserve to go and Im so happy that my daughter and grand daughter who go home and away will go and sample the game live.

Im going to see where in Southampton its being shown onscreen, I wonder if they will at SMS ??

Wrong. Go back and read about my experience. I have been a ST holder for more years than Rishie Sunak and most on here can remember yet ended up ticketless.

Admittedly I was choosey about where I wanted to sit and not prepared to accept gratefully any old scraps from their table. I don't NEED to be there wheras many it seems are treating it like a matter of life or death.

You chose not to buy a ticket but are still moaning about it, you didn't "end up ticketless", you chose not to buy one. You are not a passive victim, you made your own decision.

I bought a ticket at least 24 hours after your purchase window opened and got a decent seat, not "scraps from the table".

For someone berating others you have been posting multiple times about how hard done by you are on this topic. It's not life and death mate.

Yes, but you still needed to have a registered supporter number before (i think) 11th May, which does kinda throw the "no purchase history" theory in the bin. Doesn't stop Leeds fans who did that for the home game getting in, mind, but it should stop those who thought just buying a membership yesterday morning would be enough.

I think what has happened some Leeds fans bought memebrship for their game at SMS and now have purchase history, hence them now being able to get tickets. Were there many in the crowd in the home game can you recall. Personally I wouldnt want to be in the away section as Im sure the agrgo wont be worth it

Just out of curiosity I had a look on Ebay for tickets with the search "Leeds v Southampton playoff final ticket" and found none. However, on footballticket.net there are plenty but they are £400 and upwards

Majority of Leeds on social media are on the wind up. Probably because a high percentage of our fans are a bit wet behind the ears and start frothing at the mouth with the very thought of it.

In reality, they’ll probably be a handful scattered around who will have to keep their gob shut and you probably won’t even know if you’re sat around them.

The issue will be Leeds fans buying tickets at Club Wembley in the southampton end. Leeds end sold out and saints still available. Seen an email from Club Wembley to a Leeds fan offering tickets at the saint end with a weak disclaimer at the end "We can only sell packages to fans of the team and checks may be made to ensure fans are not purchasing tickets in the opposite end."

Notice the word "may"check.

Just to add. My dad's ticket was an over 65s and has concession stamped on it, and is the same ticket as my Adult.

So will they have bought their tickets amongst the hard core behind the goals or up near me in the gods? Quaking, I am.. But don't worry Whelk, I'll hit them with my crutch, (with the carefully concealed lead weight in the bottom).

Sadly I won't be at Wembley as I am away, so obviously I haven't had to buy a ticket, but all that I have seen in various places, is people moaning saying that ticket sales have been a shambles. Have they really been, or is this just another stick to beat the club with that some people will invariably use? This is a genuine question.

No logo on envelope but marked

Advanced Mail

First Class

AAGR-UCAB-YUBY

The last code presumably variable in that format. HTH.

As to MOG's question: for me as a season ticket holder buying a single ticket it was straightforward and quick.

Lived in Yorkshire for a few years. Watched Hull, Doncaster, Sheffield, York.

Leeds fans were the most unpleasant in the area. Entitled...."we're a really big club", gobby, etc. In effect the Portsmouth of the North!

Good luck to em - can imagine there will be a few being ejected (or taking one for the team) as it’s not easy sitting on your hands.
