yes but not a key as Downes without an adequate replacement. the stats od games with  / without Downes tends to confirm that as well.

I don’t know enough about the Leeds squad tbh, but it’s possibly a bit blinkered to assume they didn’t have matches where they weren’t hampered by absence of key players.

I read in one of their forums that they felt it went a bit flat with four players after Wales failed to qualify for the Euros (apparently they had four players involved). Not something that troubled us ( I don’t recall it anyway).

Gotta go for the win. Play our best team. Take players off if they get tired. Playing with an eye on penalties is a mug's game.

Here’s hoping

If Adams is out and Stewart (as expected) not fit enough to start then IMO its a no brainer to go back to the 4-3-3 that beat WBA twice and start Fraser and Brooks either side of Arma, with Edozie, Kamaldeen, Stewart (and maybe Che) as sub options.

Stewart apparently injured in training, Adams 50/50. Hope it's a bluff tactic.

Norwich sack Wagner after the heavy loss last night.

Might we be waking up tomorrow to news that Russ has got the chop?

Or maybe we're on our way to Wembley. Fine margins and all that...

Indeed we will, although I'm not sure there is a 'we'. The only other Saints fan in Winnersh I know moved to Hurst a few years back

I once lived in Wokingham an  d went to school at Winnersh's Forest Grammar school (as it was then in the Fifties).

Leeds have got to be favourites now for the premier league, they have the experience grit and mentality that we are lacking.  You never know though we could surprise everyone!

They currently are favourites given they are the only fkin team in the final so far !!!!!

Brilliant, that’s all we need.

Injured in training again -  whoever tackled him should get a yellow card.  The FOREST GRAMMAR gym master, a Mr Muncey, played full back for Wokingham Town FC.

If true, here is my team for tonight. Revert back to 433 which saw us past West Brom both times this season.

Where's this Stewart news come from?

And if it's true and the club hasn't released it elsewhere, why on earth would anyone post about it?

Mara, Manning and Stephens.

Nearly a third of our team are escape goats 😱

and the bastard things eat absolutely everything and anything when they do.

Now is not the time to start worrying about our perceived `worst' players, all that matters is individually and collectively we are right on it from minute 1, we take charge of the game and we show the quality, when needed, to create one of two gilt edge chances that we take. We are going to win the play-offs. Cannot wait for tonight.

Just my thoughts. The atmosphere projected by the Leeds fans, as the teams came out last night, was immense, I’m sure this had a great deal of influence as to how Leeds started, the scarves looked well impressive.

Ross Stewart, if injured would not be missed. He’s made no meaningful contribution all season to our 4th place finish.

would be great if he’s not injured but hanging our hopes on an injury prone striker is desperate.

My only concern is left back, Manning scares me against their right winger, so probably Stephens is the lesser of those 2 evils.

Fellows, or whatever his name was, was pretty fast last Sunday.  Stephens is even slower than Manning and showing a winger a route away from our goal area and goal line is not his forte ; IMO Bree, or even Meghoma (I know that won’t happen), would be better.  Regardless, think positive and enjoy the win.

Now is the time for him to redeem himself, because he did next to nothing to help during the season.

Oh for sure, if he’s playing any part it really is the time to extract the digit !

Too right. I don't know what Martin sees in him. He's been crap. Doesn't look remotely interested in games. The match where he was just ambling up and down the touchline on the wing just showed what a clown he is!

Only place I’ve seen the Ross Stewart news is by one random person on here. 😂

Not everything you read on the internet should be taken as fact.

Thank god we've still got JWP eh?  Was worried we might have lost him in the summer.

If I read this post on the internet, does that mean everything you read on the internet IS fact?

Maybe Fraser will start at LWB

I'm feeling pretty nervous for this.

Would like to see us go all out and try to blow them away, but doubt that's a good idea really (nor what Russ will do). Think it's be proper squeaky-bum stuff.

Need some quality Muffins, HairyCroatnuns and Bolt-Ons to get through this.

I’m also a bit nervous and yet, I’m really not bothered about promotion.

Its not a Grammar School any more. Hasn't been in all the 40 odd years I've taught in the area. In fact girls will be admitted for the first time in Year 7 in September so no longer a boys school.

anyone watching game in Dubai - is there a Saints pub over here?

Dubai Saints will be watching at Arabian Ranches Golf Club - upstairs bar. Failing that, Barasti may have it on, or one of the sports bars. There are plenty so get googling and you can ask them if they're showing it.

Our brass band at the start will scare the shit out of them. Don’t you worry about that.

Read my post again.  I said it was a grammar school at the time I went there  nearly 70 years ago. Of course I knew it was turned into a comprehensive  like most Grammar schools were. Before it was built we all went to Woodley Hill GS . I was an old house converted into a school with no football  playing fields.

£50 on West Brom this evening...

Fuck off, are you serious?

You may as well donate it to charity if you're intent on throwing money down the drain!!!
