No. But I'm thinking people shouldn't be worried about Welington...

(Sam Stanton is the head of Scouting Operations for the three clubs...)

Yeah, we obviously have an operative over there who’s doing some good work.

Anyone know how many loans Goztepe are allowed from us at any one time?

Currently two, perhaps that is a limit?

The Echo suggested Wellington is seen as a Saints player when he joins, I guess we will be looking to loan out Larios and Manning in Jan as over stocked with full backs.

Both Rasmuses tower above Ounachu.

Would be interesting to see if he suits their style of play?

Romulo is a bit of a beast already up top for them

Assume this must be a good deal for goztepe

"Göztepe SK agree loan deal with Chelsea for David Datro Fofana after AEK Athens move collapsed. It also include an option to buy and a recall clause in January. #CFC can bring the player back from January 1, 2025."

Possibly a good deal for us too, if he does well you could see him moving to saints at a future point.

Worth noting Saints play three times before Göztepe's next game on 23/9. and they only fit in 3 games before the next international window..

David Datro Fofana set to join Göztepe SK on loan

newly promoted Göztepe SK could move for the transfer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreed deal includes all the provisions that caused AEK all sorts of consternation, including a £16m purchase clause and a January break option if we so choose.

Just like AEK, Göztepe surely also don’t have the funds to activate that clause either, regardless of how well Fofana might play, but unlike AEK, they have recently joined Southampton’s multi-club verse, which could provide for with some intriguing possibilities.

Of course, we shouldn’t count our chicken just yet. Let’s make sure that this move does become official first...

Official: David Datro Fofana joins Göztepe SK on loan from Chelsea

Best of luck, David!

By Fellipe Miranda  Sep 14, 2024, 3:59am BST
Chelsea centre-forward David Datro Fofana was almost a victim of our circumstances, with loan moves to Leicester City and AEK Athens falling apart amidst advanced negotiations with both clubs. But with the Turkish summer transfer window still open, Fofana found a way out of the “bomb squad” by joining Göztepe SK on a loan deal.
Two reasons why Fofana’s loan move to the Greek Super League fell apart were Chelsea's demand for a (hefty) £16m release clause, and the inclusion of a January break option. From the looks of it these issues were ironed out in the negotiations with the Turkish outfit.

Last season Fofana spent the first half of the season at Bundesliga club Union Berlin, scoring two goals in 17 matches before moving to then Premier League club Burnley. He started out strongly, with an assist against Manchester City followed by a brace versus Fulham to help him finish with four goals and a single assist in 15 league matches for the Clarets.

Good luck, David!

Looks like gozteppe are balling out and going for my fav 2-0 scoreline.

Should now make them 6th in league and a game in hand still.

Sorry gozteppe fans if this now puts the kiss of death on you with 10mins left.

.......also good to see that Juan (our new signing on loan to them) scored the second goal in that 3-0 win.

Aside from Lis, our other Japanese signing  Kuryu Matsuki  (also on loan to them)...featured in the game, too.

whereas on the other hand Trabzonspor .. are wallowing around in the bottom half of the table - without Onuacho...

If they really wanted him ?.. their Board should have found the money.. now we see they outwitted themselves.

Hugo who is also one of ours was on the bench as well.

I've now seen more league goals from Gozteppe in 1 game than we have managed in our 5 games so far.

Hugo isn’t ours he’s just on loan to Goztepe with an option to buy for Goztepe as part of our deal for Alcaraz

That is a seriously good result for a team playing over an hour with 10 men against a big-name team unbeaten in the first eight games.👏     30% possession, 19 shots and 7 on target v. 70%, 14 and 3.  Stoilov obviously does not believe in Russball.

The two promoted teams are 5th and 6th after 9 games.  I wish it were like that in this country.

BTW, until now I did not realise that Lis is captain.

Juan played 70 minutes and Victor Hugo was subbed-on at 94 minutes.
