Social media is bad for you as everyone knows, but I am amused by the amount of posts by Portsmouth fans on every social media platform I’ve seen screaming about how fantastic their atmosphere is home and away, whilst also at the same time obsessively trashing the atmosphere or quality at Saints.
What is it about these odd cunts that makes them so frenzied about trying to prove to the world of football that they are the best fans in the world? The way they kiss Millwall’s ringpieces is a sorry spectacle as well.

Most saints fans I know are happy to admit that the atmosphere is often shite at our place, but I find it no worse than when I’ve been to Fratton in the away end with mate’s teams.

Their old ground is always a a better conductor of atmosphere than a newer one like ours, but this relentless dribbling to anybody who’ll listen about how great their support is, is more desperate than it’s been for years since they got promoted.

Winning v Leeds (on ITV for anyone who cares).

Calling it now, I think Pompey will make a late charge for the play offs. Jammy gits.

They can charge all they like. They’re in 17th position and have 10 games left to make up 13 points on WBA who are in sixth place.

No chance they make the play-offs this season, none. They could next season, probably Hampshire plod’s worst nightmare if Saints met them in the semi-finals. But there’s plenty of clubs more likely to, and they’d have to improve their wretched form away from the toothless, stinking ‘Old Girl’ they call home.

Their worst nightmare would be a playoff final at Wembley with 90,000 of us all over London 😂

If I was a Pompey fan I'd be booking a Travelodge around Wembley now before they all get snapped up in the rush.

Hey if they win all of their remaining games and 4th place Sunderland lose all theirs, they will only be 3 points behind them at the end of the season

Still in with a chance of relegation... Unlikely, of course, but won't put my chortle pants back in the drawer quite yet...

Derby home game the key one, win that and very hard for them to be dragged back into it. Derby have to win that match.

I dont think they could make the play offs for League 1 this season as they are in the Championship, they are having a good go at it though. I suspect they may petition the league to allow them to, after all I think they say Wembley is their home ground

Pretty much everyone below them has better form. They have a few 6 pointers between now and the end of the season. Maybe Selles will send them down

Sadly I think they will survive as they literally only need 3 or 4 points in the next 7 games and not all the teams just behind them can get the 8 or 9 points they will need. Hope I am wrong, but cannot see it.

Edit. Stalker alert, yet again.

Looking forward to 6 points next season, and playing a part in sending them down in 2026.

You could be right Nic but I think it will all come down to the 6 pointers against Derby and Hull. If they lose those they will be in serious trouble.

Does the BBC have a predictor this season does anyone know? Derby and Hull might well catch them but will the others down there do the same? To be honest I am quite torn between seeing them go down and being a league below us still, or as Whelk says, having the Derby games and taking them out!
