SNSUN Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Neat. So now we are Hull fans for the rest of the match. 🤪
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 On target header from them. No trouble for Baz though. GOt decent pace on it, considering where it was from.

obelisk Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Saints defending still shambolic. We'll need at least 3 to win this I reckon. 2
Saint NL Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 The most obvious corner you'll ever see, Atwell says goal kick 😂 1

Saint Fan CaM Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 I want at least five goals at least out of the team today and none conceded - we deserve it against this team. 1

hypochondriac Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 We've been decent but Sunderland have been turd. Their shooting has been abysmal. 1
Saint NL Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 We should be at least 3-0 up and haven't played *that* well. 1 1
Saint Scott Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 If we had made better decisions with final balls/shots we'd be out of sight here 2

obelisk Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 It's almost too easy for Saints. Really need to be much more clinical in attack. 2
AlexLaw76 Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 HT We have been mediocre, with moments that have been good. Not convinced at all THB at RB is anything to pursue once KwP is back Sunderland are awful 2
NewYorkSaint Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 I love Adam Armstrong as a passionate, tireless wrangler of the ball and playmaker... but as a striker he's so often unconvincing. Coulda shoulda had a hatrick already....
Saint Fan CaM Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 The way things are going goal difference could really make the difference between the teams chasing the auto spots. Must do better in front of goal and completely smash Sunderland. 2
Zorba Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Sunderland letting us play out. We are duly obliging and look good with very little resistance. All playing well enough. Nice to see Baz launching some and mixing it up a bit. So far, so good. 1
ButtikonSaint Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Very strange not to be up in arms about something or stressed out because a 2 goal deficit. Rather comfortable ... I'd expect us to score a couple more, ring out the changes by the 60th mins Lovely... 🙂 1
Saint Matty 76 Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Decent performance, poor opposition. Hopefully kill this off early and then get some additional contributions from Sulemana/Edozie/Mara off the bench And obviously hope that Hull can hold on for something too
Convict Colony Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 I am more annoyed by our shit finishing as our goals werent exactly clincal. Goal 1 down to their defender and it still was saved by the goalie from beders point blank header before stuey tucked it hom. Goal 2 - good work from manning and then still armstrong tried to fuck it up.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Would love us to be five up at 70 minutes and allow the youngsters to come on to express themselves.
OttawaSaint Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Ah it's too bad we had those 2 sticky patches. 4 losses in a row and 3 in 4. All we can do is win the games vs those 3 and hope we have enough at the end of the season. 1

trousers Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 (edited) At the game. We look very comfortable but that's partly down to Sunderland being poor. We should be out of sight by now but we're not clinical enough up front. Can't see Sunderland being as poor in the second half, so this this far from over yet. COYR! Saint NL Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 So if Leicester draw today, Leeds can go top next week with a home win against Millwall. Imagine if Leicester didn't get in the automatic spots, it'd have to go down as one of the biggest bottle jobs ever.
Patrick Bateman Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Sunderland are woeful, which of course means Saints will gift them some goals ... need to keep scoring. 8-0 please.

Saint Fan CaM Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 To be fair and balanced, Manning made a good recovery then. 1
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 First half. Loads of possession(62%). With that we had dominance. Form that created 13 efforts with 6 on target. They had 7 effort, but just the one on target. That also reflects the moments where they might have created something, but we worked hard and blocked. We were stopping htem in there own half for lots of the time. More of the same this half please, with the subs coming on to freshien things up.
OttawaSaint Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Our finishing is putrid today. If we fuck this up...
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 AA tried to pass that through 2 players instead of cross. Moments later Will gets Stu in behind his defender. Not the best angle in the end.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Tell fibs, it was the defender who took it away from Stu.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 AA going for goal again. A lovely move, with little first time passes in it and one long one out wide to AA in plenty of space.
Lighthouse Posted 9 March, 2024 Author Posted 9 March, 2024 2 minutes ago, OttawaSaint said: On par with the one by Spurs that handed them the EPL title! Leicester were a good 7 or 8 points ahead and just needed a draw from their last couple of games anyway, so that was hardly a bottle job. What was ten times funnier was that they lost at home to us the following week, then got spanked by relegated Newcastle and overtaken by Arsenal on the last day of the season.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 More lovely passing from us. A real mix, leading to a chance. 1
Lee On Solent Saint Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Can't work out if we are playing within ourselves, or just completely off the pace. I know we are winning, but this lot should be belted out of St Mary's
obelisk Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Saints decision making in attacking areas hasn't really improved.

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Oh, nearly. Brooks did well winnign the ball back. What looked like a lovely pass, but just a fraction too much on it for Adams who had got clear. Nice stuff. We're continuing the way we were in the first half. Downes makes such a difference. Not least, it's allowing Smallbone to be freed up to be all over the place.

If the team were fully on form I think they'd be 5 or 6 nil up!?
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Sule and Aribo on for ... Smallbone and Brooks (both have done well)
Saint Fan CaM Posted 9 March, 2024 Posted 9 March, 2024 Sully and Aribo on for Saints. Smallbone and Brookes off.
