Wiggles31 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Absolutely ruthless today. Second goal one of the best we’ve scored this season. What a time to be finding some form. Believe! 1

It goes back to Bednarek or THB and they're both in Preston's half.

Saint NL Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 We've been very good, but Preston have been awful. Surprised they're in contention for the playoffs 1
SNSUN Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Couldn't have wished for a better half. Preston can't be this shit all game can they?
M271 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 I still don't trust this side, if we concede 1 our whole way of playing can suddenly deteriorate. 2
Saint Matty 76 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 At our peak we’re the best team in this league, just a shame we’ve not seen this more than once every 4/5 games throughout the year Unplayable stuff, rewarded with a beautiful second goal too 2

bangkoksaint Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Watch us tinker with the team Saturday and regress 1

obelisk Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Almost perfect from Saints. Should be 4-0 though.
Turkish Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 great first half that, as good as we've been all season, dare i say it but that's what happens when you play your best players in their best positions? 4
Mixedkebab Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Praying Adams doesn’t pick up an injury, he is vital to us at the moment. Correct players in their correct position, Jack on the bench, lovely (so far)
austsaint Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 The Harlem Globe Trotters of Hampshire! Great first half of sublime attacking Football - it all started with picking the best team in their best spots. 1
egg Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Well that wasn't too bad was it. The score could be anything tonight.
SNSUN Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Not a bad player on the pitch for us so far. Everyone working hard. Passing good, winning the ball well. If this is the final score I'd still be very happy. But with Preston offering nothing this is a really good chance to boost our goal difference, which isn't nearly as good as the other 3.
AlexLaw76 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 No shoe horn, no problem. Players playing in their natural position, less faffing around between the defence and the keeper, against a crap team This league is shite, no wonder the top 4 have ran away with it 4

Hawkswood Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Is this Hinchcliffe on commentary again ? We're 3 up and brilliant and the bloke is still irritating me.
Saint_clark Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 That planet of the apes trailer at half time had me shouting "what a wonderful day!" back at it, much to the annoyance of the missus.
obelisk Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 I can still see Saints handing PNE a goal and then going to pieces and clinging on. That's what a true Saints fan will surely be thinking. 4
saintant Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Wow! 45 minutes of pass and move football of the highest quality. Not a weak link anywhere and we have run Preston ragged and scored 3 lovely goals plus Stu was very unlucky with his clever shot that hit the post. Hope we keep up the same tempo and look for more goals in the second half but that was quite a stunning first 45 minutes. 2

Colinjb Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 An acceptable first half. Still expecting a defeat mind. 2

gio1saints Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Scintillating football at times. Best half I’ve seen us play here in a long time. But PNE shape has made it easy. Che, Manning, both armstrongs, Aribo Flynn Kyle Jan THB Alex all excellent. Goals and SHOTS all excellent 👍
Micky Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Need to drive this one home in the second half, this is not just about this game, it's sending a message to those above us. I'll be pretty pissed off if we concede, and if we don't win at least five nil. More of the same second half, and keep that foot hard down. 1
saintnick Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Lovely jubbly first half that. The boys look well up for it tonight. COYR
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Excellent team effort there. Adams was a stand out. It's good to see all the work he puts in off the ball, and his movement get a reward. Before our first he'd held up the ball, passed it and gone on a really good run only to not get picked up. But we unlocked our attacking more and more as the half went on. Downes was full of drive and energy, while AA terrorised the Preston back line. Stu linked everything up with help from Brooks. KWP and Manning got to do a lot in their attacking roles, with Preston not offering much. Manning has a defensive mistake in him. Aribo combines lots of good things with his tendency of needless passbacks, rather than be a full part of an attack. Yet, seconds later he's ther looking for the ball. Hopefully Baz recovers quickly. But McCarthy has been fine. A few longer ones early on, with a poor one in there, but comfortable picking up passes across the defence. Shots low to his left have a chance of being saved too. Get Che's hattrick, and then some game management to freshen things up ahead of the run in please. 1
Baird of the land Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Geing greedy i'd like a quick 4th and then give a few of the key players a early rest ahead of Saturday. 5
Saint_clark Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Goal difference is only going to make a difference with Ipswich really, Leeds and Leicester are both far superior in that regard.

tdmickey3 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Great 1st half get the 4th and then make sensible subs, don’t try to be to clever Russell 1

Cabrone Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Don't take your foot off their throats Saints, we got 3 in the first half so lets get 3-4 in the 2nd. Follow this with a good thumping of Cardiff and we could be somewhere close enough to Leeds g.d. to overturn it on the last day (if it comes to it).
Jimmy_D Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Sublime performance so far. Albeit PNE with very little to play for and are playing like they have very little to play for. A few more to make up goal difference on Ipswich would give us another route into the top two, with only one Ipswich draw needed to put it into our own hands.

Dman Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Downes, Aribo, Armstrong is comfortably our strongest midfield. Have to start the remaining games, no ifs or buts. 2
