Saint Matty 76 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 There was a year in the Prem (multiple, probably) where we’d constantly throw away leads so I’d throw a tenner on whenever we were 1 goal up with about 15 to go. Happy to hold on or a few extra quid for the evening Haven’t bothered this year other than my £10 on Alcaraz Championship top goalscorer at 100/1 though which I thought was genius at the time 2
Saint Pete Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 I reckon there may be a few changes tonight to get some fresher legs in from the start. Maybe Stuey, Edozie and Rothwell coming in? Will also be interesting to see if Downes continues to start or whether it's felt he needs a rest at some point..
Saint Matty 76 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Hmm, surprised Brooks gets the nod again but very happy to see that back four, and what I believe is the strongest midfield

That's interesting. The people around us in the ground didn't see it on the weekend, but he took a huge swing at one of the watford defenders who went down all off the ball. I looked at the ref (who didn't see it), then at the linesman (who didn't) - I couldn't believe he'd got away with it. No idea if he made contact, but assume he did from the reaction (although who knows these days with players being dishonest)... regardless, he was silly to take the swing and we're bloody lucky he didn't get caught in the game! 1
SNSUN Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 (edited) After scratching my pupil over the weekend I'll be watching us on Sky through one eye. Beats watching us with two! Edited 16 April, 2024 by SNSUN 1
Colinjb Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Hallelujah! Stephens is dropped. Happy with that side. 1 1

coalman Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Pros: Bednarek and THB. Aribo and Downes. Charles on the bench. Cons: Brooks. Plenty good enough to win this. COYR

Saint_clark Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Probably our strongest team to start, toss up between Brooks and Fraser but having the pure pace of Fraser to come on is a benefit.

There was a chipped cross that was exquisite, fantastic control under pressure and flicks inside to keep a move flowing. Defensively he's usually shit, but I can see why RM wants him in the side. On a good day he's just a better player than the other options. Let's hope tonight is one of those good days. 3
The Cat Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Tough selection for the "he only picks his favourites" gang. 2 5
chownie20 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Wondered if it may be wise to give Downes a rest for this one, bur equally if you have to win a match you play your key players.

Decent side overall though. Our best back 4 and midfield. Scrappy 2-1 win, and breathing right down Leeds and Leicester's necks. 2

Completely agree, he's a player with potential quality above this league but I just think I'd have given Edozie a shot tonight Weirdly underused in recent times, not for the first spell this season

Saint_Ash Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Happy with that team. We will be rotating a lot over the next couple of weeks. 2
jimmer42 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Good team that.Downes has to start as he's absolutely key for me. Brooks / Fraser is a toss up really but Fraser better for an impact after 75 mins. Good balanced side

Lighthouse Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Apart from Fraser for Brooks, I’d say that’s our strongest side.
Dimond Geezer Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Looks like Baz has injured himself warming up. Time to step up Joe.
ErwinK1961 Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 That’s the team I’ve wanted to see for ages, first time I can remember it being picked. Think that’s our strongest starting 11. 3-0 defeat therefore incoming.

Maggie May Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 With Baz out and Mara suspended, that’s our hopes of automatic promotion out of the window. 3

Saint_clark Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 Why on earth would Lumley be the sub keeper but McCarthy comes in for Bazunu?
saintant Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 McCarthy is not great with his feet - could be a worry. I'd probably prefer Lumley. 2

Saint Scott Posted 16 April, 2024 Posted 16 April, 2024 McCarthy not even named in the squad but replaces Baz over Lumley. Work that one out... 1
