Got away with that. Saints started well and should have got 2 or 3 ahead with that amount of possession. Finished the half like desperate relegation candidates. Still not scoring enough away goals.

Get an early goal 2nd half or it'll be curtains I reckon.

Never ever a penalty. It's whacked at him at pace and his arm is in a standard running position. If anything it's tucked in and he's purely flinching from the anticipated impact. 

But we're lucky to be ahead. Basically a set play and very little from open play. Looked to be flagging from 30min as well, that or totally out foxed by the west brom mananger as the half has gone on. 

Need to come out much better after half time! Only a matter of time before WBA score if we keep going like this!!!

I think we deserve it. They had a late flurry but we should already be further ahead but for utterly woeful finishing.

Effectively playing with 10 men due to Mara being completely out of it. Seems to always be on his heel and not getting back into position.

Half time.

First 30 mins were very good. About as dominant as you could hope for.

The last 15 mins we looked all out of sorts, completely fell apart. If the second half continues then we'll be very lucky to come away with three points.

Need to get control of the midfield again, AA has been poor again, Mara had a couple of nice touches but has otherwise done little.

On balance a good half and JUST about deserve to be ahead. Need to get the second to make the game ours. Bench might be needed to add some quality when legs start to tire. Charles in particular started to look a half step slower at the end of that half.

Started brilliantly and deservedly took the lead. However, West Brom have clearly been told to add more men to the press and we have nowhere to go. At times like this we will get more joy by playing longer balls over the top to catch them with lots of players in advanced positions. If we continue playing short passes from the back they will get back into it.
