obelisk Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 That is dreadful. Well I suppose the run had to come to an end some time but this is a surrender.
Block41 Saint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Fun while it lasted. Unfortunately this performance has been very similar to the ones where we lost 4 on a bounce. So prone to the counter attack and needlessly going the ball away. 1
BotleySaint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 2-0. Unbeaten run looks to be ending. They've deserved it. Still got the game in hand on Leeds but we need to not let this dent our confidence too much.
stknowle Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Been really poor tonight. Can’t win them all, for top 2 we basically need to though.
Saint Matty 76 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Absolutely shite today, and realistically against most of the contending teams Wake up call for sure, massive game on Friday now
Lee On Solent Saint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Done over by a bang average team. Utter shite
CB Fry Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Might be a blessing to stop talking about the unbeaten run. A win on Friday is better than two draws. 7
6ft8saint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Yey 2 nil down and they ask why we booed for shit performances 1 2
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 We do like to set ourselves up for these comebacks. Deep corner, free header and no one anywwhere near it.
Saint Scott Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 This is like watching us in September all over again
Jack Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 All a result of giving it away cheaply up the pitch. Horrible performance 1
obelisk Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Saints just turned up expecting another stroll. Well it looks like they've been found out.

Mr X Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 We looked asleep and knackered from the first kick 1
Winnersaint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 (edited) Miles off Saturday got lucky, miles off it tonight. Playing catchup now. According to Leeds fans on social media they’ve already been promoted so we were only ever playing for the play offs. Lots of water to flow under the bridge. Edited 13 February, 2024 by Winnersaint 1
saint lard Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 I’m not overly optimistic that we will regain 2nd spot again this season.
Lee On Solent Saint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Don't mind losing, but been no fight or passion, just surrending the run with a whimper 2

John Boy Saint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Bristol City have stuck to the task they were sent out with.

hypochondriac Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Hey we had to lose one eventually. Concerning that we have such a poor record against top sides. Let's hope we see a reaction Friday 3
CSA96 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 I can’t get over how many times we’ve just passed the ball directly to a red shirt

Daft Kerplunk Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Big test now. Perhaps the win on Saturday and record went to the team’s heads a little. Downes is a big miss but he’s one of 11 players. A loss might not be terrible if reduces pressure to keep extending it or ends the assumption that it’ll keep going regardless of effort.
macca155 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 I'm guessing it must have been a huge adrenaline drop from Saturday. They look knackered and there just isn't enough intensity. I hope this isn't indicative of Saints's weakness against the leagues better teams.
Micky Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Me neither, but I've never been confident that we would go up either.

tdmickey3 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 (edited) Warning signs were there Saturday and we got away with it. It was good while it lasted Just got to hope the wheels don’t come off Edited 13 February, 2024 by tdmickey3 5

obelisk Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Still just strolling out from the back and giving the ball away. Seems like they've given up already.
redkeith Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Passing has been poor all night, giving the ball away very easily. Have to limp on now until Downes is fit again. Also need to have some cover in front of Manning or play Minohma instead.
IronCitySaint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 This has been terrible tonight but the thing I find unbelievable is that after so many games unbeaten, we are still not in the top two. Pretty unlucky to have such strong teams in the league this year. I think this is the end of our automatic promotion hopes. Leicester and Leeds look unbeatable and we still have to play them both away.
Andrew Watson Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Shsmbolic,we have been poor the last 3 games, really disappointed with Brooks, thought he would run the show tonight. We will get hammered at Ipswich,Leicester and Leeds if we play like this and god knows what Liverpool will do to us. 1

Bristol city fans singing "oh when the saints are staying down" Jesus Christ.

FarehamSaintJames Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Why can’t we ever have a go in away games? Bristol City 2-0 (so far), Coventry 1-1, Huddersfield 1-1, Watford 1-1, Norwich 1-1. The difference between promotion and EFL next season is our lack of finishing teams off effectively. But as long as we get 473,846,026 passes a game it’s fine.
madge Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Huddersfield pretty much worked us out.. Bristol have tonight.. our MO will need to change to avoid continual repeats of this.
Challenger Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 1 minute ago, Saint_clark said: How many goals have we scored from crosses this season? Doesn't feel like many. We haven't got a target man, haven't really since Ings left and when we did try to rectify that we bought a crock. It's playoffs for us, been saying it for a while. Been a great run but altimately we are likely to fall slightly short.
Tanlee Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Probably been said 100 times already, but I hope Downes is back soon, missing him so badly tonight
Jack Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 We’ve been so easy to play against. Given it away so cheaply over and over, so poor
GDog07 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 The hardest thing about these sort of performances leading to potentially not going up is knowing we’ll lose KWP and Harwood-Bellis and we’ll just slowly become stale over years like half of the championship currently are. 2
Micky Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Our slow passive play is all very good when we're winning, but at two nil down it is absolutely pointless. Our first shot for 20 minutes, wide.
