I don't think that is true in this instance. Most Saints fans would agree that Downes has been immense.

He really has. We don't have anyone even close to his level to step up when he's missing and it really shows in our overall performances without him.

Smallbone is being let down by others in midfield. He has a great partnership with Downes but those who come in like tonight are not good enough. Not sure what the answer is because we don't have anyone remotely on the level of Downes. Fear a defeat here as things stand.

Leeds seem to have realised that automatic promotion this season will only come from going all out to win games. Saints haven't got that message yet.

This. Worried about their intensity versus ours. Need to up this in the second half and glad Charles off for Stuey

God that was shit.

A Armstrong missing in action again and him and edozie are trying to see who can hit the a man the most on crosses or shots.

Charles passing like stevie wonder

Smallbone being smallbone, circulating looking busy but not affecting anything.

Manning just existing

Baz and CBs playing well

Rothwell and Brooks trying to play faster

KWP got a sore back from carrying the team.

Hoped sat was a fluke with how shit we were first half but lets see.

Agree with everything other than AA. Don't think he's been missing at all but he works off finding space, there's obviously going to be less of that when playing in the middle of a tight pitch like Ashton gate as opposed to wide at St Mary's

Not massively convinced with Smallbone in Charles' role. Generally, but his own first half wasn;t great.

Oooooh.... should have been one up there.

Will isn't great at winning the ball back but he does make blocks and his positioning and simple passing are decent so hopefully he does ok.

It wasn’t a good pass, Edozie could only just get a toe to it which sent him far too wide and led to it not being a simple chance on goal.

Fair enough. Looked ok to me at first glance so will have to watch a replay again to reflect on how "poor" it was

St Mary's 105m x 68m

Their place 105m x 69m

Apologies for the MLG, it's that sort of game.
