He really has. We don't have anyone even close to his level to step up when he's missing and it really shows in our overall performances without him. 4

Saint Matty 76 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 We’ve seen we have enough off the bench to be confident we can win it in the second half, but need big changes and another fast start. And then pray to everything that Downes is back for Friday somehow. 1
saintant Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Smallbone is being let down by others in midfield. He has a great partnership with Downes but those who come in like tonight are not good enough. Not sure what the answer is because we don't have anyone remotely on the level of Downes. Fear a defeat here as things stand.

Saints haven't got that message yet. This. Worried about their intensity versus ours. Need to up this in the second half and glad Charles off for Stuey
SNSUN Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 SArmstrong on for Charles. Russ saw it. Charles was off it tonight.
Saint Matty 76 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Have to score there. So, so poor from Armstrong. 1
Saint_Ash Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Mara and Fraser to come with 20 mins to go to rip the tiring City team apart.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Not massively convinced with Smallbone in Charles' role. Generally, but his own first half wasn;t great. Oooooh.... should have been one up there.
SNSUN Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Brooks down. Smashed the post. Oh god. Hopefully just winded.

A Armstrong missing in action again and him and edozie are trying to see who can hit the a man the most on crosses or shots. Charles passing like stevie wonder Smallbone being smallbone, circulating looking busy but not affecting anything. Manning just existing Baz and CBs playing well Rothwell and Brooks trying to play faster KWP got a sore back from carrying the team. Hoped sat was a fluke with how shit we were first half but lets see. Agree with everything other than AA. Don't think he's been missing at all but he works off finding space, there's obviously going to be less of that when playing in the middle of a tight pitch like Ashton gate as opposed to wide at St Mary's

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 AA pass just a little ahead of Edozie, or Edozie just not quite prepared for it. That was quite an impact on the post. Hopefully can continue.
Chez Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 should have scored there. Shit pass by Armstrong, after making a good decision, Edozie pushed wider. Blast.

Leighsterrr Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 That made me squirm watching Brooks, glad he's up and back on

Mr X Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Bazunu's clearances tonight have been shocking

DT Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Why are we so poor tonight? Manning is such a shit defender
Turkish Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 All started with another bit of sloppy play.
Saint Matty 76 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 (edited) Manning gets unfair criticism sometimes but he is bafflingly easy to get round at times, fucking hell Edited 13 February, 2024 by Saint Matty 76 1
adrian lord Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Ashton Gate is never a happy hunting ground for us.
Jack Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Manning joining in with passing straight to a red shirt. Are we arrogant in thinking we can just stroll around playing 5 yard passes all day long? Dross

Whitey Grandad Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Faffing about at the back with no purpose. Again.
BotleySaint Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Handball in the buildup but still poor defending. 1
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Manning, who else, at fault for the first goal! 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 13 February, 2024 Posted 13 February, 2024 Fully deserved. We have looked nothing like the 2nd best team in the league maybe Leeds fans were right, we are largely flat track bullies
