What will happen is that some players will leave and others will join while there's a 276 page thread about it all, a lot of which will be the usual bollocks which has already been discussed to death on other threads.

I’m going to guess that there will be a lot of bitter posts on another thread accusing others of knowing nothing yet several random people with only one thing in common will post things that all come 100% true, like prophets in the lords book.

I hope you guys don't hold your unrealistic expectations against SR rolling out our recently deceased, uniped zonal attacker next season. 🙂

Lets get Dignitas as a shirt sponsor

There's Fonte of course, but who else could we bring back from the dead?

Oh, come on. Just where are a top level scouting department supposed to find this fantasy player with 2 working legs who can do his job half decently?

And that's before SR's left field hiring smugness gets applied.

I hope you guys don't hold your unrealistic expectations against SR rolling out our recently deceased, uniped zonal attacker next season. 🙂

Things are gonna be different next season.

Yes, we will be scouting freebees, and lots of them

Yeah the ones we spent money on are doing so well Onauchu, Stewart…..we will be the new Stoke don’t you know. Not the new Norwich.

Our loans have been our best players this season .

Saints looking to bring in Downes next season whichever league they are in.

Would be a very good signing but we won’t get him if we’re in the championship, he’s proven he’s a top championship player he’ll have premier league interest if he’s available

Also a West Ham fan who might fancy his chances if another manager comes in.

Agree, if we get promoted I think he is a realistic signing otherwise our only hope would be another loan deal.

As the summer window will include  incoming and outgoing players, here are a few thoughts of my own...

There are several established names who will be out of contract, Alex McCarthy (overpaid and underemployed). Stuart Armstrong (surely must keep him)

Three players who will seems like "new signings" ;(subject to fitness)  Dom BallardRoss Stewart and Juan Larios... are already bought and paid for.

Loan players unlikely to return (unless we have a change of heart) include;  Lyanco(?),  Caleta-Car, Onuacho,  Perraud,  Bella-Kotchap, Mateus Lis

and  even  Alcaraz (subject to good spell at Juventus).   His transfer would generate a lot of much-needed cash.

Younger players  I'd be sad to see depart include  Jake Vokins  and Lewis Payne ( presently doing well at Newport County) ..

Those on loan who we should buy; Harwood-Bellis,  Brooks and Downes. (absolutely). Fraser (despite his age ) and maybe even Rothwell ..(?)

but knowing Saints' reputation for secretive dealing ;  there are certain to be an indeterminate number of others on Jason Wilcox' "special list".

I'm sure everyone has their own list, but it's not we who will  be making the deals that matter.

I think S Armstrong is retiring and going in to Law.

Where did you hear that?

I agree that he is on his way regardless, its the final year of his contract and he hasn't signed.

Che Adams obviously on his bike (replaced by stewart), and one can only assume KWP will be gone as well this summer. Macca goes without saying. Its a hefty chunk of the wage bill between them all if nothing else.

can you imagine him turning up to defend you in a dark navy Canali suit, fitted white shirt, hair immaculate, with that soft inverness accent he would look & sound marvellous, the prosecution would have no chance.

This is so strange to me, if I had made as much money as him over my career you can be damn sure I'd retire at 32. Good for Stu for having such tremendous drive.

Given the number of players who retire and fall into gambling, substance abuse, depression and financial problems I can fully support and understand this, if true. Everyone is different but I personally couldn’t have retired at 32, no matter how rich I was. I’d need some purpose to life, beyond holidays and golf.

Hopefully he's specialising in FFP/ PSR rules, with a view to defending our future finance breaches 😂

He was studying for his Law degree in 2014 way before he joined us, he was doing it through the Open University and expected to complete in 6 years (he was already doing his 2nd year), so probably completed a few years ago now, unless of course he found he had less spare time when he joined Celtic and then Saints. Report here from 2014:  https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/dundee-uniteds-stuart-armstrong-reveals-3338131.

Looks like he graduated by 2020.

Christophe sera sans doute dévasté mais sans doute pas surpris. Nous pourrions en envoyer un ou deux à VFC en retour. Peut-être ont-ils besoin d’un arrière gauche irlandais ! 😉

Joachim is a good player who can go far in his football career.

He has a great mentality, is serious and hard-working on a daily basis.

Honestly, I'd 1,000 times rather have him with you, in good hands, than somewhere else.

Even if he's happy with us, I understand that he'll find it hard to stay this summer following our probable descent into the 3rd division.

As for you, we'd love to have some of your players :D

Local presse before 1 week:

https://le11hdf.fr/vafc-je-ne-menflamme-pas-je-reste-comme-je-suis-affirme-joachim-kayi-sanda/

Quote

A regular starter at just 17 years of age, Joachim Kayi Sanda is currently enjoying an exciting season. Ahead of VAFC's trip to Guingamp on Saturday (7pm) for Ligue 2 matchday 29, the young defender looks back on his career, from youth teams to the U17 World Cup to his first-team debut.

His youth team career

"I arrived at Valenciennes at the age of 14. I started out with the national U17s and had a season in which we managed to hold our own after a complicated start to the season. I was injured during the preparations, but I was able to come back three games into the championship. Then I had a good season with the U17s. Then I followed that up with a U19 season last year, which was pretty good. In the U17s, the team made it all the way to the play-offs. And in the U19s we were able to hold our own regularly, as we do every year. After that, I went on to work with a group in N3, and I started playing pro again at the start of the season. And so far, I've played in the Euros and the World Cup (U17) too.

His arrival with the professionals

"I started training with the professionals as soon as training resumed. I did all the sessions, I trained. I also played in the Limoges tournament at the start of the season, during pre-season, which we won. After that, I was in the groups with Ligue 2. I was on the bench, gaining experience, watching and observing. I didn't necessarily fit in, but that didn't frustrate me because, as a young player, you have to go through that. I watched, I learned and then I was able to make my debut against Grenoble there and it went well, a match in which we won 3-3. After that, I'll go back to the U19s and the reserves to get some game time before heading off to the World Cup, which was an objective we'd set ourselves at the start of the season.

His World Cup with the French team

"The World Cup was what it was, we finished second. I was with two of my colleagues from the centre, Aymen (Sadi) and Ismail (Bouneb). It went really well, we were all together, we were a real group. We already knew each other and we'd already taken part in the Euros together. The whole group worked perfectly together and it was thanks to that that we managed to come second. Unfortunately, we didn't win it, but that's good enough.

His blossoming at club level

"When I came back, a week later I went straight into the French Cup. We qualified on penalties and after that I made a few appearances in Ligue 2. I made my first two or three appearances in Ligue 2 and after that it's been one thing after another until now. I got my start against Concarneau and since then I've been going from strength to strength. I'm not getting carried away, I'm continuing to work, to be serious, I'm continuing to stay as I am, to laugh when I need to laugh, to be serious and to work. Every match is special, every match is the way it is. You have to look ahead and not be satisfied with what you've got, so I'm staying as I am and I'm continuing to work."

What about my future? I don't think this is the time to be asking that kind of question. We have a French Cup semi-final to play in three or four weeks' time.

Joffrey Cuffaut's contribution

"He brings me his seriousness, his calm and a lot of advice on a daily basis. That's largely thanks to him, and I'm also thinking of Taylor Moore, who was there, Jordan Poha and Jonathan Buatu, who helped me a lot and are still helping me. Jonathan Buatu who's gone, we write to each other often, he gives me advice, he watches me. It's great to learn from the greats, it's great to grow alongside them. As I said, I watched a lot of matches at the start of the season. How do you play in Ligue 2, how do you have to deal with certain moves, certain situations? Frankly, it's helped me a lot so far.

His future at the end of the season

"It's not the time, it's April (March), I'm 17, I'm playing in Ligue 2. I hope to keep going, there are ten games left and I don't think it's the right time to be asking myself this kind of question. We've got a French Cup semi-final to play in three or four weeks' time. Right now, I've got other problems to worry about before I think about myself.

Pretty sure Lyon have a mandatory buy option from us for Car.

We are going to need it. Plus getting shot of the likes of Bella-Kotchap, Peraud, Lyanco etc players we probably forget existed but are still ours. We're going to need all the cash we can get.

I Imagine we will have likely buyers for all those, Saints just need to relax how much we actually want for them.

I really like Jay Stansfield, on loan from Fulham at Birmingham. Good presence to him, plays on the shoulder, decent turn of pace.

Not sure he'll get much game time at Fulham so I'd have a look. Reminds me of Jay Rodriguez in how he plays.

It'll be a mega busy summer if we stay down though, so much work to be done. We will need a new team, back to front. The scouts will earn their corn this summer (and that does scare the shit out of me given their record)

We will need the following:

New GK - goes without saying

Three new defenders - KWP, THB and JB will all be gone. We’ll keep Bree and Manning (unfortunately)

One central midfielder to replace Downes. We’ll keep Smallbone (unfortunately) and might get in Rothwell but that makes us significantly weaker.

Copious amounts of forward players - we’ll lose S Armstrong, A Armstrong, Adams, Sulemana and Brooks. Expect we’ll sign Fraser permanently and keep hold of Edozie. We’ll also have Stewart for about 5 minutes before he’s out for the season again.

All in all, we’ll lose any resemblance of quality and be left with all the dross and a few kids, needing to replace said quality with something like some equivalents. We’re utterly fucked.
