Reckon you've gone at least 4months early with this comment 😅

He's never been England's number 1 goalkeeper, whatever your opinion of his ability.

Come on, this is just semantics. I think he's better than Pickford and therefore England's best goalkeeper.  My opinion. Is that fair enough ?

Turned over to Talksport. Jim White saying that the guys with him have put in a shift all day. "Bashing the phones...and making sure you're right!"

One of the guys he'd just said was getting it right, was Crook. 🙂

Good window.

JWP on loan to Forest. I get not in WH’s new manager plans. But it wasn’t long ago people were talking about  why is he not going to the Euros.

He would have done a great job for us on loan this season.

KWP is a quietly astute player - I'm wondering if he has watched what has happened to JWP over the last 13 months and whether that makes us more likely to get him to sign a new contract.

Bednarek has also previously moved and like Ings discovered that the grass isn't always greener (but perhaps more lucrative)

He'd be in a better spot professionally now if he'd stayed. So short sighted to jump ship immediately after relegation.

So as its reported that our squad is too big and the Turkish window is still open 1 week are the likes of sulemana and tall paul gonna end up loaned to goztepe as transobor are blaggers offering 2 bottle tops and a packet of knock off fag's for a player

If so it’s horribly depressing that we've gone from  Che Adams to someone with an even worse premier league average goal return thus far.

Horribly depressing? Seriously?

Archer has played one season in the Prem FFS, with one of the worst prem teams in history. He scored four goals and his ‘expected goals’ were 5. He got naff all chances in that team.

Did anything come of the two Brazilian strikers or did that die off early? Hypothetically if we were to go back in Jan is either worth signing? Is the Brazilian league much good?

It's fairly physical, so that's one aspect that's similar to the EPL, but the quality isn't great IMO. The lad from Corinthians, I'm told from those 'in the know' isn't much kop. (He'll bang in a hat-trick next game now I've said that)

With an hour to go if we end up keeping these two as well for me it would have made a good window into a great one.

In what way?

He had a reasonable first season at WHU, kept his money up, now moved to NF on PL wages, England chances now gone.

Or he could have played a season in the champ on reduced wages and now back in the Prem with a likely relegation struggler, England chances gone.

Not sure there's much difference really, he's moved on, some of us need to move on too.

I was told earlier that JWP was desperate to move back down here permanently.

I understand why he left, but if he had a crystal ball, I think he would've stayed.

Despite his A-levels I understand JWP confused New Forest and Notts Forest. By the time he figured it out it was too late.

I admire your optimism. Sadly, whats actually going to happen is that he'll get a recurring hamstring injury, making intermittent sub appearances in between, scoring one late consolation against Palace. Come January, some bright spark will have calculated that he actually scores every 150 minutes and that, "if we can sign him and he stays fit he'll be a real asset for us."

More appearances than Mr 2WeeksAway then 😂

Love him, but there's no way that was happening.  We wouldn't have had that amount of money - and that position wasn't really priority.

Gift Orban who we were linked with earlier came on as sub to score twice for Lyon tonight. Maitland-Niles also scored!

Maitland-Niles, bloody hell I had totally wiped him from my memory !

So with TP,ABK and Kamaldeen we are going to have three players that cost us £50 million pounds who will not even get into a match day squad.

Add Manning,Edward’s, Wood and Lumley to that  and there will still be a few others who will not make a matchday.

Who do you think those other 2 or 3 are that will be left out completely.

Window:

We really needed McCarthy, Downes, Stu, Fraser. Brooks/Tella, Che replacements and DM cover this window.

We got Ramsdale/McCarthy, Downes, Fernandes, Fraser, Cornet pending?, Archer/BBD (also playing left), Les.

We also look to be keeping KWP and Bednarek. And strengthened with Sugawara, Taylor, happily obligated to sign THB, added squad depth with Lallana, Wood and Edwards. Dibling, SAA coming through too.

Arguably, we don't have a like for like Che replacement. Martin looks to be trying different things there. Fernandes and Les are young, but both seem to have been brought in to push for starts. With Will,Aribo and Lallana we've got some depth there now.

Two excellent interviews from Ramsdale and Fraser today. In particular everyone should watch Fraser's as firstly it's obvious the affection he has for the club and also how popular he is with everyone else.

I was a bit meh about his signing earlier but watching that I'm buzzing and I think he will have an important role this season for the group. Glad we have him.

He'll get a good chance to test and improve his end product, for sure.

They are unforgiving, so he'll soon be reminded about an end product. Big support, big expectations and a bit more room. So, if he can deliver he will do really well from the experience.

Look

James Ward Prowse WILL be coming back to Saints.

But only when the TIME IS RIGHT.

That time is not now.

He still has a few good years left in him.

Once he is in the twilight of his career with one year left to play THEN he'll come back to see his playing days out with Saints, playing a bit part off of the bench.

As they all do.

That a good thing, as Cameron Archer is a clinical finisher with both feet.

There was more to Che's game than missing sitters. Hopefully, we've got a finisher without losing out in other areas (either with Archer, or through others picking up those roles)

Rory Macleod, Dundee United

Will be for the academy, not first team.
