Are the rails only in the upper rows?

Sorry Whitey couldn't respond as used up my 3 posts - upper rows only til end of season, now being installed all the way down, All safe-standing, must be around 6,000 in the Northam plus some in the new away section.

Thanks. Does this mean that those without rails will not be allowed to stand?

Yeah, right.

I like the drums, a few trumpets would be good and a harp would be amazing.

Just laughed at the prospect of someone turning up and trying to get a harp in the ground.

Presumably it's not mentioned on the sign outside the turnstiles which lists prohibited items.

@franniesTache look forward to seeing you at the Ted Bates statue at 6. Let’s hope there aren’t too many away fans this time. Got my foam hands ready to give the boys a rousing reception

Honestly mush, kids today eh? No respect for tradition.

Why can’t they just go down the Painted Wagon, have a few beers, fight the ICF down by the station, go to the game, have a few more beers, go down Top Rank, have another fight, throw up, have more beers and then go home?

Anything else is just embarrassing.

I actually can't wait for this lot to appear, i reckon it's going to be proper comedy, they're talking about printing out "hymn sheets" and the flag designs they've made are original ted bates statue levels of pure shit.

I mean imagine waving flags with a twitter account on it and something saying what the name of the stand is 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thoughts, FranniesTache?

this is why we need a designated area for the rainbow saints, they'd get a harp in the ground no problem.

Would have thought they’d find a flute easier to sneak in.

If the original ICF members turned up for a scrap today our yoof would be running home to Mummy.

I expect this may be one of the reasons the club were allowed / encouraged to change the access route for away fans at St Mary's

Still think it’s such a shame they’re putting up such a generic blob of flats and not making more of the gasworks. Dublin did theirs properly and I think it looks great.

Woke up in a cold sweat this morning with a troubling thought...with our limited songbook and as we've lost a few chants (Stu Armstrong, Aribo rumored to possibly be off and as we aint gonna be challenging for europe, so no EI-EI-EI-O) was fearing we may be left with just even more OWTS but it could be worse...the return of the Lallana wave. :?

Don't worry I've got it ....Russell said" got to play him up front a bit "...oh words can't describe when I see him in the red & white....his touch sublime ..scores goals fn all the time ...that's why we sing this song for Adam Armstrong....

Have to say I’m so glad the Northam has sold out - proved a point about the concept of expanding the ‘home end’ / cop. I’m looking forward to seeing it in person for the first time, so I hope everyone’s in good voice for that!  Quite surprised also to read that ST’s have all but sold out - I wonder how many matchday tickets will be available to purchase?

Youuuu bleeding lightweight.

What happened to the Kebab afterwards from JR's, and snogging the big bird from the holyrood estate, and dancing down the high street, wearing a cone on yer head, and telling the old bill where to go,(behind their backs) AND singing 80's tunes through Hoglands park. AND you were up at 10 am on Sunday to have a full English at Nicks in East street, then down the Dockies for 12 for a few liveners, onto play Sunday League footie and back on the beer until 10.30.

Kids don't know their born these days.

Nicks was more big dinner, Jackpot Cafe in Portswood for a full English was our spot. We used to play Sunday mornings and after a big session you’d pray for heavy rain so the game would get called off and we’d have a team breakfast at the Jackpot instead.

The Northam wall makes it's competitive debut this weekend! Exciting times to see everyone stood for 90 minutes giving it large in our own Kop end we've been dreaming about for years.

How do you think it'll go?

Hopefully will improve the atmosphere but likely end up with different blocks singing over each other rather than in unison.

If, and its a big if , we manage to get the three points then it will undoubtedly be the best whey whey wheeeey we've even seen from Martin

Will be interesting for sure, I'll be watching carefully from my comfortable seat in the Kingsland.

Well, me and the now 18 year old lad have left the safety of the old family center corner of the last 10 years and have ventured into block 46.. Look forward to not having 5 year olds doing the waaankaa sign and disinterested parents nodding off... Should be a blast.. As long as the seats have been cleaned after seasons of away fans rs's... I'm sure everyone will be moaning about something after a few games and harping back for the good old days.....

Annoyingly working during the game tomorrow. Interested in seeing some clips from the other end of the ground to see how noisy the Northam can make itself tomorrow, if anyone is able to get some.

It's ok, the game is on Saturday, not tomorrow 😀

Stood behind the goal at the Lazio game and despite being only half full that was exactly what happened. It'll probably take a few games of everyone getting used to their new spot but if the singing gets coordinated properly it has the potential to be one if the best ends in the PL

I was expecting some of this 1885 group to have organised themselves over the summer with a few new chants but going by Newcastle last week it doesn't appear to have happened. So it's still just OWTS, the cringey skate shit and a couple of others. Hopefully it will improve as the season goes on but for me, just making noise is as good as singing. Would be good to develop a 'Northam Roar', the kind of thing you used to get in football grounds years ago, particularly with corners down that end.

I'm an old git in his sixties but I'm in the Northam Saturday (not around for United and back in the KIngsland for Ipswich), my support is a bit industrial so I'm looking forward to seeing how it is Saturday, hopefully leaving with a sore throat!

Kingsland Centre is the new front line , you'll be expected to take on the duties of the Itchen North and intimidate the away fans so don't get too comfortable

How was the wall?

About a standard St Marys atmosphere imo.

Started well but trailed off after about ten minutes when most people start looking at their phones instead and/or get bored of the umpteenth rendition of OWTS.
