Spoke to a Birmingham supporting mate today - he says Adams is their best player but isn't convinced he's ready for the premier League. He described him as "raw"

Perfect for Ralph..

Birmingham have a lot to learn......

If a club bids for your player just accept the offer.

If you don't the player will sulk and probably go on strike.

Rule no.1: If a player is wanted by a club higher in the hierarchy you simply have to sell and sell immediately.

This will probably end in tears for niave Birmingham

That’s true. We simply accepted the 1st offer for all of our players. That’s why we got a world record fee for a defender

Don't see this one happening. Would be a risk to have no real options if Redmond got injured but summer is a better time to do business.

I remember seeing a young “raw” player once who seemed to spend a lot of time falling over his own legs.

His name was Mick Channon.

If Burnley was to get him then it would come down to offering the player more wages than we have. Although we both would of agreed a 35k salary and if a club feel they are losing out then they will offer more money to the player. This is the part where we will stay on a price and not shift.

Reckon we have lost many other players like this in thew past.

Like who.

Alex Crook (I know) is saying that Birmingham won't sell him and the deal is dead.

The last time he said we weren't signing a player Charlie Austin was announced less than 24 hours later so I fully expect it to be done today.

This window’s version of Promes. Feeling really p*ssed off at the moment. I get the impression the club are being really complacent. We are in a relegation battle and our squad is weaker than it was on 1st January.

It's likely to be the 1st time a club might ship out 5 or 6 & not bring anyone in during a relegation scrap.

Us being the exception.

The difference being that all of the players we have let go thus window have been surplus to requirements, rather than star players we badly wanted to keep.

Yeah, like Hoedt..

We can all forgive him.

But I still can't believe we sold one of the best players to have ever played for the club whilst it was still December

Is this just another bid for a player that is not for sale. The management then claim they were trying to do something. I know it's cynical but how many times have we seen it in previous windows slam shut with no decent incomings.

Very true. The club consistently lie to the fans to mask their lack of ambition which you can’t really hide anymore and they did exactly the same with Promes. If you remember he appeared in a friendly last day of the transfer window so we never had any serious intention of signing him (nor any alternative targets). I doubt we will do much judging by the echo articles fed by the club’s PR agenda which are clearly conditioning the fans for more disappointment which contradicted the articles saying we would need to clear out players before bringing in new. Well we have cleared out a number of players are not made a single signing so that says it all for the club.

Quite frankly, I’m bored with it all and the deceitful way the club treat the fans. Gao needs to go. Kat too. It’s back to the low ambition days of obscurity having undone all the good work and spirit we built up in our rise through the divisions. We have sold off all our talent and I’m just bored of the new Southampton way & how the club is now run on the cheap. We have an entirely inept board whom know nothing about football and an owner who has little interest in anything other than expanding his business empire. A typical Chinese businessman. Our previous years of good fortune are well and truly dead & we won’t improve until our board & chairman are replaced.

SSN: Burnley have had a second bid turned down by Birmingham City for striker Che Adams.
You have to assume player has given Burnley some positive indication of his willingness to join them if they've come back with another bid.

But also, Burnley are £8m richer if Vokes leaves.

Burnley have second Che Adams bid turned down by Birmingham City:

Burnley have had a second bid for Che Adams turned down by Birmingham City, Sky Sports News understands.

Burnley are favourites to sign Adams, if a deal can be done before Thursday's deadline, with Southampton understood to have found no movement in negotiations.

Birmingham have been unwilling to sell their prized asset mid-season, with a transfer embargo and the threat of a points deduction hanging over them.

Adams, 22, joined from Sheffield United for £2m in August 2016 and had scored 14 goals in 30 games for Birmingham this season, who are 13th in the Sky Bet Championship.

One possible solution could see the player leave St Andrew's and immediately be loaned back to Birmingham until the end of the campaign.

Sky Sports News understands Sheffield United have a 20 per cent sell-on clause for Adams.

Cedric and Gabbi is more like it

Our defensive record is no worse since Cedric stopped playing regularly and his assist record proved we're not missing out on any attacking threat. And Gabbi couldn't score goals after his injury early in his Saints career, and doesn't want to play in a high-pressing team (which is why he left Napoli). Both had value, both were wanted by other clubs, both were surplus to our requirements, so letting both go was exactly the right thing to do.

BREAKING NEWS

Birmingham City have told Burnley that under the terms of their EFL transfer embargo, they are not allowed to sell Che Adams and then loan him back, and so they are not interested in doing a deal, Sky Sports News understands.

Burnley were exploring that possibility as a compromise, so that Adams could be bought now, abut remain at St Andrews for the remainder of this season.

Looks like this one is dead in the water. Or is it a ruse? Will we see him get out of a helicopter at the Grand Harbour Hotel later? #hoping

Luckily we'll get about another £120million at the end of the season. It really is madness that we seem unable to afford even the smallest transfer fees.
