Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Manning seems to be doing a lot more defending today.
AlexLaw76 Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Listening to Dean Hammond, you have to wonder how have not won the league already 1

Not complaining with today’s display, as long as we win it from here 2
Saint NL Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Half time, about as good as we could have expected. Same again second half. Wednesday haven't had a sniff apart from the crazy first two minutes.
obelisk Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Ludicrous that it's only 1-0 given the amount of possession. I always ask for more composure in attacking areas and Che provided. But it's only 1-0 as usual.

BotleySaint Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 The half time table has us second. Though Ipswich have to play later. Looks good.

sfc4prem Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 (edited) On track so far. Been easy really. Can see a 5-0 on the cards. No chance of them scoring, they're a bit lame. Edited 13 January, 2024 by sfc4prem

gio1saints Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Dominant first half. Should be 3 or 4 nil, as usual. Great finish by Che. A def penalty not given to us. More cards to come second half I’m sure. Am predicting a penalty to saints also. Law of totting up the fouls. Ryan on fire just hope his injury not serious and he plays on second half. SW are massive but ideal for our nippy forwards. Do same again we surely must score at least another. SW will need to score two at least to beat us. Not to tempt fate but 100 year recird is 45 minutes plus injury time away….COYS!

sfc4prem Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Tempting fate as fans is surely a load of bollocks. If the team apply themselves, they win. They will apply themselves, they will win, and they will keep a clean sheet.
Harry_SFC Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Pretty decent so far. Second goal will kill this game off. Still think we lack a bit of finesse in the final third but we look so good in possession.
coalman Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Sheffield Weds are a lot like watching us play during the Ralph days. Nice pressure at the start. Ball nearly breaking forwards then increasingly sitting back inviting pressure and playing so narrow that pressure it invited out wide.

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 That was a lovely series of passes. Just noone making that final run (might be a liitle harsh there, considering how far back the move started from)
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Wed get a shot in. That started from us trying a longer, direct pass through the middle. A lot riskier to control and bring others in to, than the pass availalbe out wide. Don;t mind doing it, but when possession is lost, we have to deal with something. Which we're much better at these days. Bedders trying for a glancing header. Good run there. Just needed a better contact.
Saint86 Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Che "barn door" adams back in the house.... 1

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Smallbone watch: Nearly puts a good pass through for a chance. Well picked out. Good tackle, good positioning and support. All in 5 seconds. 2

Jack Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Che back to his usual self. We HAVE to take one of these. Open on the break there
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Smallbone also did very well moving into spaces for that effor well over from Che. 1
Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Fraser's taking a proper battering. Don't think he'll last much longer.

I’m hoping that means we score a couple more in the second half. 3
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 They did end up with someone in space there. At least one of our players saw him. However, not for the first game, we seem comfortable knowing the quality of delivery it would take to give that player an excellent chance, and prefer to put more pressure on the ball. No doubt, we'll end up with a few "why was noone picking him up2 moments. But it has been working.

Saint NL Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Nice that we're utilising the long ball from THB now and again.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 AA taking a card for the team there. We're being quite patient. But could do with a bit more movement across their box.
Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 Really love overcomplicating things at times. Wait ages for god knows what to take the throw in and eventually just throw it straight out for a goal kick.
M271 Posted 13 January, 2024 Posted 13 January, 2024 (edited) I hope that this doesn’t end up the same as the Rotherham game or worse. A second yeh…………… Edited 13 January, 2024 by M271
