Saint Matty 76 Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Winnable but as boring a draw as you could possibly get
LGTL Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Couldn’t have been a more dull draw. Potentially brilliant draw for Eastleigh though!
Wade Garrett Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 We’ll fucking murder them. 5th round here we come. Choo fucking choo. 1 1
Whitey Grandad Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 I shall be out of the country for the next round so at least I shan’t miss this game, but I would like to get through.
Pamplemousse Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 (edited) There are 4 all Championship ties so there will be at least 4 of us in the 5th Round. Decent ish chance of a Championship club going very far. Ipswich and Blackburn will probably win and you can't rule out Swansea and West Brom creating a shock. That would be half the teams from the Championship Edited 8 January, 2024 by Pamplemousse
bpsaint Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 What an utterly crap draw as a whole though, fucking Watford away, what a load of shite. 1
obelisk Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Quite a few EPL teams will be missing by round 5. A championship team with a fair draw could go a fair way in the FA Cup this year.
Paulwantsapint81 Posted 8 January, 2024 Author Posted 8 January, 2024 Need to win it at 1st attempt Real incentive for Newport & Eastleigh
Secret Site Agent Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Away at Watford it is. Would have preferred lower league team but there you go. It's a winnable one, so we'll probably lose it 1-0 now I've jinxed it. Want and Eastleigh v Man Utd where Manure come with their arrogant kids Under 18s and go 2-0 Down in the first Half.
Secret Site Agent Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 (edited) At least some of the Premier Teams will put each other out. And allow the BBC and ITV to show only Premier Teams again and fuck the lower leagues Edited 8 January, 2024 by Secret Site Agent Cause I am mental
LGTL Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Coming out second ruined the rest of the draw too. Love the anticipation of seeing who’s left.

woodsaint1 Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Watford is the new Palace for us when it comes to cup draws 🥱
SNSUN Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Beat them in the Semi in 2003 so let's do it again en route to the final.

sfc4prem Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Shite draw but eminently winnable, particularly as I'm sure Watford and us will rest players, and our squad is much stronger than theirs - playing into our hands nicely.
DT Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 I had tickets for Hull that day with the kids. Moving it to a Tuesday night is not great. Anyone know if we can get a refund? Or is that it?

They'll definitely give us the whole 4000 behind the goal if we want it, you'd hope as it's an unattractive fixture for them as well make it cheap tickets. It's an easy away day, either quick drive or via London on the train for a few beers. Plenty of pubs in town centre short walk from ground so could be worse. We sold out league game really quickly so with plenty of tickets this time good opportunity for others who missed out to go. 2

Yep, not the most exciting fixture but a decent day out with plenty of options for a few shandies. Been there a few times, first time 40-something years back for our narrow League Cup defeat (on aggregate ) will get the entire end for the cup so should make a racket.

Not sure we'd sell that many for a 4th round tie...

We took something like that to Spurs 2 or 3 years back for a 4th round replay, think it was live on SKY too. And took 7,000+ to the old WHL long before that, think for 3rd round. 9,000 away for a 4th round tie in 1984. Edit: Any excuse... Edited 8 January, 2024 by TheAlehouseBrawlers Why not... 3

Spurs in the new stadium may have been a little bit more appealing than Watford, but the `London' away games always seem to sell out. I was at the WHL game in 1990. What a day. Was the 9000 at nottarfkrap? I saw a small clip of the away game at Sheff Wednesday in the 6th round and that look like a huge following.
Whitey Grandad Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 our home game against Hull has been rearranged for the evening of Tuesday 20th February at 19:45. I can go to this one 😁 https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/hull-fixture-given-new-date
davefizzy14 Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Happy with the draw, a very good opportunity for us to progress
musesaint Posted 8 January, 2024 Posted 8 January, 2024 Boring fixture but looking on the bright side an opportunity to progress - or just bomb out and focus on promotion win win situation
Hatch Posted 9 January, 2024 Posted 9 January, 2024 TV games will be Spurs / Man City Newpotr/Eastleigh v Man U Fulham / Newcastle Chelsea / Villa Liverpool / Whoever they play and probably WBA v WOlves
saintant Posted 9 January, 2024 Posted 9 January, 2024 It's an ok draw as far as I'm concerned. Reasonable chance of going through and if we do go out no disgrace and concentrate on the league.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 9 January, 2024 Posted 9 January, 2024 Not a bad draw…one we can win but also not a complete upset / travesty if we lost. 0-1 Saints.
Harry_SFC Posted 9 January, 2024 Posted 9 January, 2024 (edited) Let's be honest we will put out a reasonable side at worst. Apart from a couple of youngsters, the side against Walsall was pretty strong. So we should as well. As others have said - the draw is gonna open up for the championship sides.
